Here’s the one watch I own, Bering titanium and despite 2 years of every day wear it’s practically as good as new. Slim profile so it’s slips up a sleeve nicely and isn’t the size of a wall clock

Think it was about 150 quid.
Now that is a very understated watch, I like the look of that and being titanium i'll bet you're not even aware it's on your wrist!?

Aye it’s nice and light, understated is my thing really.

The shaped strap is a pain though, I’m not s big bloke, at the end of the adjustment and it’s a little loose.

Recraft SNKM97

Thanks to the rogues in t'other topic, I've been forced to order one of these - £105.
Stunning watch, amazing value. Did you see the custom leather strap that the Polish company did for it?

Mine just arrived, looks amazing!
Even after paying customs, it was still a steal imho.

Just fyi: I've got a coupon for $20 on Jomashop, valid for 30 days on orders >$300, if anyone wants it, just PM me.

Just read the review on this it looks fantastic but as I don't have a watch winder I wear my Citizen every day to keep it wound and on the days I want to wear something different I can hand wind it, according to the review the Seiko doesn't have that facility which rules it out for me until I find a decent winder that doesn't cost as much as some of my watches!!!

Why not just reset the time and date when you want to wear it? I have too many watches for winders to be practical so just set the date and time as required. It's part of the ritual of mechanical watches as far as I'm concerned.

True but i'd just find it irritating not being able to just put it on, having said that it's no different from having to reset the date on a watch i haven't worn for a while, i think having never gad automatic watches before i'm worried that constant running down and starting up again will damage them, but from what you've said it will make no difference!!

ION i've ordered a couple of new leather straps for my Citizen, a brown heavy one and a dark blue with lighter stitching, when they turn up i'll review them and post pics.

I've over 30 watches, 1/3 of them quartz or solar and the remainder a mix of manual wind or automatic. I'd rather leave an automatic run down than have it constantly subjected to the movement of a winder. I had a Speedmater reduced which I bought in 2000 which I sold last year. Never serviced and it still kept perfect time (+4 seconds per day). Of the 17 years I owned it it was probably worn for 1 year in total.
I also have a 1968 Seamaster which I'm sending off to Rigga - partly for a service and partly for a check over/cleanup (and advice on whether to leave the dial as is or refurb it). It's losing 5 seconds per day at last check but then it hasn't been serviced for 20 years!

Arse. Received card from Royal Mail requesting payment of £27.01 customs charge. That makes it £132 all-in.
Paid online so should be delivered Wednesday.

Vixen1700 had similar, he's had to pay import charges too, I've never ever ever in my life ordered anything from that here abroad type place!!!

ETA:- I've made myself come back and correct this as I lied paperbag I did order a survival kit from a company called Banggood in the USA, but the import duty was included in the price!!!!

My watch was a birthday present from my mum and dad - so no idea (I would rather not know), but a quick online search puts pulls up similar looking watches in the £175-210 mark.

Sorry - phone camera was all I had at the time.

£129 from First Class Watches in their sale.
What's not to like about a Bulova Precisionist with £100 off retail?
