Well yesterday I put a new battery in one of my Currens, that went well so I attempted to replace the battery in my ageing Timex Indiglo Expedition, first attempt failed when I failed to remove all the sticker from the face, but I rectified this, replaced the back with my new back press tool, cleaned the strap as it was minging having never been cleaned and reinstalled the pin to make the bracelet whole again, very pleased as these are my first attempts at this!!!

Its a good sound when the back pops in, does your Timex bracelet have micro adjust? My IQ one doesn't and its a right pain.

I REALLY like the look of that, please keep us updated as to how it performs!!
Accuracy: Its running about 2-3 seconds slow per day
Size: Its really large, My wrists are 7.5" and it really is the limit. Think large G-shock size. or large Breitling
Weight: 183g. again on the heavy size, I have a Rolex sports watch and that weighs 150g
Finish: the edges of the metal are sharp, and they will soften with time, but you certainly notice it.

Overall: I really like it. It has presence and it is beautiful and for £53 I am pleased.

Thanks for the update, I think it's a great looking watch!!!

Well today is a mixed bag of results, I altered my three point tool successfully, pic below shows just about where I dremelled it out.

I got the back off my Pulsar quite easily once it fitted the cut outs properly, only to find I didn't have the right battery!! Again!!!! grumpy Amazon to the rescue again, thank God for Prime!!! thumbup
A question for our learned friends, it says on the case back, "be sure to short circuit the area AC and the battery connection (+)" after new battery is installed, I take it once the battery is in I need to bridge this point

With the little strap that holds the battery in?

You'll probably find that all the metal plates on the back are linked to the battery, so you just need to touch the gold contact in the "AC" hole with the surrounding metal plate, using tweezers or a paper clip.

Where are we with smart watches?

I beg to offer my new (bnib) ebay purchase for the princely sum of £78 delivered....
Nice, I didn't know they did smart watches, looks a sensible size too.

I've just started myself this week with my first 2 (obsolete) smart watches:

The Sony Smartwatch 2 was £42 new in box. Its a bit of a pain to get up and running as Sony have pulled all support and deleted all the apps for it, but I managed to find them elsewhere. I wouldn't have minded if it ended up as a glorified calculator watch though, I just like the look of it!

The Casio is a DBC-60 from 1985. I found it in a charity shop for £1. It looked absolutely trashed, but I stripped it down, cleaned and polished it all up and it started looking pretty good. The keypad lets it down a though - you can buy a sticker to put over the top for £15, but then I found someone selling complete new old stock cases for £35, and you can also get reproduction original looking straps... so by the time it is done it will end up costing me more than the Sony biggrin

I really like bith of those, but I'm a sucker for the old Casio calculator watches, everyone wanted them back in the 80's!!!

It has presence, certainly. As always, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But I'm pleased that you're pleased.

Been trying to get my hands on a Casio GA-2100-1AER (black with white hands and hour markers) as a gift for my father, but they seem to be out of stock all the time mad

Can you guys please stop buying them?
Found one on a Dutch website! Incoming.
I'm trying to find one for my Son's 21st, cheapest I can find in stock is more than a quarter over RRP, and I grudge paying RRP for anything never mind well over it! There's some amount of flipping and price gouging going on for this model (unless you want red) But £130ish gets you a half decent Seiko or Orient automatic (or a very decent San Martin for a little more, but then there's none of the oh-so-important-to-a-21yo brand cachet despite it being of objectively better quality)

Loving those! I've got a Sony Smartwatch 3 which is ok, very 'clunky' in use compared to the Skagen. I'm loving the Skagen though. Only downsides are the battery life, it is one day max and it's not water resistant at all, apart from splashes.

Not really micro adjustment r159, I do have some adjustment on the clasp but only a couple of holes.

Arrived Friday, bracelet is too short For me so an alternative is this for now, I fancy a blue with white centre pinstriped marine national style strap. The Miyota movement runs well, I have really struggled to find much info on these, size approximately 42mm, 22mm strap £30 plus post.

My replacement batteries arrived, new one installed in my Pulsar, it started working straight away but I thought sod it I'll do the shorting thing anyway, it started doing two ticks per second so I did it again for a bit longer and it seems to be working perfectly now!!! Happy days, I'm starting to amass a decent stock of spare batteries and feel a lot more confident tackling all my other watches as the batteries need replacing!!!

Nice for £30.

Here's the low budget version of that fancy Timegrapher - just put your watch by your phone's microphone and then stay very quiet while it listens to the ticks. +50s per day for the Vostok now - seems to have run in a bit, it was around +3 mins per day when new.
