My biggest problem is Rolex, I've no doubt they are playing a blinder with their marketing strategy but I'd rather have a shonky copy than buy into their prestige, fk 'em.
What annoys me is that they make (some) watches that look so damn good it's hard not to lust after them... lol
This afternoon I had a look in the window of our only jewellers in town. They sell Tissot amongst other brands and had a steel bezel chrono which looked bloody lovely I think it was this
https://www.tissotwatches.com/en-gb/t1064171104200...
although the dial looked black. The size looked perfect for me 43mm (it’s over thread budget £385) and the finish looked fantastic, far better than these pictures show.
Now it does look a lot like a certain other watch, which is almost and unfortunate, I wouldn’t buy it because it looks like that one I’d buy because it looks great (in my eyes). I don’t lust after the other one because it is too small for my tastes ...there are others in their range I would buy if I had the money...
Now just a case of finding the Tissot cheaper...

How do you change the bezel insert? I quite like the look of the Orient Rayll but would prefer it with the Pepsi bezel!!! I did look at that Citizen when looking for said bezel colour!!
They’re glued in, there are quite a few YouTube vids showing bezel insert swap just need to find the correct size.

I’d put one in my all black ny0040 if I could find one for sale, and swap the crown for the knurled signed one... it goes on...

This is ultimately the kind of thing but with a black/red insert

About the only thing I don't like about that watch is the "guard" around part of the bezel, just doesn't do it for me!!

Dive watch, decent brand (Dugena), vintage so nice and small, only a quartz but hey ho, terrible strap but I will swap it out.

£50.

Happy days.

That Dugena would look good on all sorts of strap types, but I'd probably go for sharkmesh. Love a bit of sharkmesh.

Bobbers, if you like the Orient divers, have a look at the Kamasu. The maroon dial version looks lovely and it's high on my want list.

There's a few watches I like on Aliexpress, but I think there are some sales on in November. Actual sales, rather than the usual discounts they show all the time. Global Shopping Festival 11th to 13th November and Black Friday 27th November.

I’ve got a 20mm mesh Milanese strap that would work I think, but it will probably go on a vintage leather strap. I do love a cheap dive watch on an expensive leather strap. Weird I know but why should life make sense?

Will post a photo (obviously) when it arrives. Hopefully it’ll be nice and beaten up with a decent patina but working well!

I accidentally posted these in the Wrist Check thread. I’m fearful of a good thrashing!

I did point out how much I was still enjoying this watch, despite wearing a Sumo and an Aquaracer at different times throughout the week.

Rubbish photos - sorry - quick phone shots
I just went to have a look at the thread - you were right. Literally the first comment after yours was a snarky comment about your watch!

I think a Steeldive Captain Willard will be my next watch. Though I must admit I prefer the look with the logo on it personally, as a general rule. They get great reviews - stuck a Seiko logo on it and that is a £500 watch.
I think that comment was more to do with the clarity of the photos than the watch! Best tip I have is to take the photo outside. Snap off 10 photos quickly at different angles and choose the best one. Even if it is overcast it will come out much better than one taken indoors.

Rollercoasters in driving rain, plus the back I hadn't cranked hard enough as it moved enough to permit water. Steamed up on Monday and stopped working at 14:15, did well to last over 4 hours of leaky abuse.

Here's one of mine. For a cheap Chinese homage they do look good.

This bracelet is a strapcode I had on another watch. The oyster style it came on is not bad but the solid end links are a bit rough on the inside and it has a pressed clasp.
