Well my watch arrived from CdeG on Friday (thanks again). Well 5 mins and it's all fixed, 4.5 mins more than it could have taken.biggrin

So after taking the movement out I thought I'd tighten the stem securing screw and low and behold all fixed. Stem doesn't come out and now winds with crown in. Not sure how that works, but not going to take it apart to find out. All back together and running sweet. Just need a better strap, as it's made from the skin of a plastic alligator.

All in all rather chuffed, only down side is due to it being a pocket watch movement it's rather large and looks like a dinner plate on my puny little wrists. Will give it some wrist time I think the expression is and see if I get used to it.

Thanks again CdeG hope you're not too miffed.

I'm not at all miffed and am simply glad that you have managed to fix it. I hope you'll get some use from it and 'wear it in good health' as the cringeworthy saying apparently goes!

Victorinox INOX back at TK Maxx under budget, stainless case and bracelet green face...don’t believe the thickness dimension though, it definitely isn’t 6mm!
If that wasn't a green dial, i'd be dangerously tempted.
Here's my green dial, I really like it. For some reason mine has developed a fault with the Ronda 715 movement where it sticks setting the time. Takes a few push/pulls of the crown to kickstart it. I'm almost tempted to buy one of these and do a return. Must make sure I send the right one back though. wink

I've been looking at them for ages, i'd go for the black dial with brown leather straps version. It's only a matter of time before I pull the trigger on one hah

They are nice things. The finish on the case and dial is excellent. Although they are known as being super tough it's not a watch you would want to beat up, they're too nice for that.

I'm definitely seeing an opportunity to do a sneaky swap over with my faulty one. smile

Funnily enough that is the exact version I have but I’ve put it on an aftermarket bracelet, the strap is as tough as old boots but then I understand it’s made of the same material used for firemen’s boots...

Strap put back on this morning

Bracelet before I’d got rid of the extra polishing the previous owner had done on the case

This little bit of the tread had prompted me to put my watches all back on their original straps/bracelets (except those that are too small) as a change.

Well, if you measure the bezel it’s only 41.7, the crown guard and a slither of case makes 46mm

Don’t get me wrong it is a chunky monkey but try it on before dismissing it as too big (unless you have 6” wrists)

I think this would look good on a decent fabric strap and a clean up

I’d have taken a punt on it if I didn’t have a Corgeut speedy on its way.

Argh sudden influx of INOX photos isn't helping the matter hehe

They're lovely, I'd like to see one in the flesh before I do anything daft, as I haven't got chunky wrists - the dimensions posted helps, but it's only until I actually see one, then i'll decide.

Anything with ‘Swiss Army’ or ‘Swiss Military’ on the dial is inherently cool and therefore a compulsory thread purchase.

On that subject I might be getting a Hanowa Swiss Military automatic dive watch this week. It’s for sale, mis-labeled, in a mixed box of watches here on eBay.

As always I will make sure to have had a good few beers before the bidding hots up. Why change the habits of an lifetime etc etc

So, being on the phone with car insurance is a laborious task (some urchin has stolen my car) so may as well make it a tad more interesting. Replaced the movement in this Daniel Wellington with one from China.

It was part of a job lot but came with original box and a NATO strap

And a new one for the collection... Always wanted a Seiko 5, this popped up and I had to snap it up.

Why do I read this thread? I have more watches than I know what to do with BUT I now desperately want a classic Seiko 5 with a blue face.

Worse still I have found one to bid on. This is going to have to be a low cost stealth purchase if I am to avoid serious detention.
