That Mido is stunning in the blue, not a GMT fan but such a lovely watch.

I had a Chinese Rodina Nomos copy, really loved it, some thieving scumbag is enjoying it nowfurious

The new strap for my gifted Parnis has arrived, popped it straight on and what a difference it makes, looks really classy IMHO. Real lizard Italian strap for a tennercool Got it from www.ukwatchstrap.co.uk they have loads of good quality straps really reasonably priced.

I could do with a twin watch winder on the spirit of the thread. Any suggestions?

Looks great, well done.

The Mido may fill the drawer-space left by the Parnis. Slightly different ends of the price spectrum!

Does keeping automatic watches wound and going have any positive (or detrimental) effects on the watch in a mechanical sense?

No, but the thinking is that there’s no point keeping them going if you’re not wearing them.

Why shorten the service interval etc unnecessarily?

Of course with the vast majority of watches on this thread only sentimental value would warrant a service 5 years in!

I think in the grand global scheme of things a watchwinder isn’t essential.

(Also, that Mido has an 80 hour power reserve I think so you could theoretically leave it from Thursday night and pick it up Monday morning without it stopping)

I read an article by a watch repairer, and he basically said if you leave it running it will wear out quicker, if you wind and wear it it will last longer, which makes sense. It's like leaving your car engine running constantly.

I'd assumed you were male, but your ability to tempt a man to spend cash is now making me think you're a burrrd!

Out of interest as I'm completely skint just now... What would that Mido set you back? It's lovely...

Not guilty monsieur le president.

However I am all for spurious, unnecessary but ultimately gratifying watch purchases.

So I've had a rearrange of my watches, hoiked out the really cheap ones I bought just to see how cheap and nasty they were and moved all my watches into the watch boxes, this is how my collection stands right now, the empty spaces will be used by Mrs Bobbers for two of her watches, she only has three and she constantly wears one!!

Your turn, let's see pics of your collections then!!

Picked up my tuna this morning, must say I'm impressed with it for the money. Finishing is good, bezel works great, everything lines up etc. Plus you get a few extras in the box! Definitely pleased with my purchase!

My box with the new addition

And these two, maybe getting rid of the Accurist if anyone’s interested, on the original rubber strap.

Is it wrong that the three of us in our household all have watch boxes/drawers, but I am the only one with gaps... (self inflicted tbh after selling 7). Pics to follow...

Funnily enough I was just thinking yesterday that the thread needs a State Of The Collection moment/update from its regular participants.

I’ll post mine once my latest job lot of stters, sorry, high value second-hand watches, has arrived and been assimilated into the flock.
