The under £200 watch thread!
Discussion
David, Glad to help!
The Blue rubber strap (M610017175) (HK$300)
The CLASP, ROSA PVD SG 19 MM (M640015260) (HK$350)
The service centre in HK even fitted them for free and spent time safely cutting down the strap till it got the right size for me.
I got all mine from MIDO HK service centre, hopefully Mido UK can source the parts with the Part numbers.

Rather smitten with your Ocean Star, but would like to duplicate your modifications (imitation, flattery etc).
Mido UK can't source the blue rubber strap, and I'm not sure they have found the correct PVD clasp.
Don't suppose you have part numbers for the strap / clasp, and maybe a source, do you?
Many thanks
David

But unfortunately this thread is like The Hotel California, once you join, you can never leave!!!!!
Special Delivery this morning...I’ve put the NY0040 against it for comparison
Blue lume and a waffle effect on the dial. The bezel insert has a few scratches but not too bad.
The bracelet fits, in fact it might need a link taking out, doesn’t have the functionality of the other watch but is a lot better quality. A bit of scotch pad and it will look smart.

I have the very same Eco Drive. Never seen another one... I’ve had it well over ten years and it’s never missed a beat. My boy has it now as I prefer wearing an auto - just like the smooth second hand. Sad, I knowBlue lume and a waffle effect on the dial. The bezel insert has a few scratches but not too bad.

Wow
Still have mine on a khaki nato, hardly worn it.
I gave one of mine away to a guy in Bangladesh and the other one has been worn maybe twice.Still have mine on a khaki nato, hardly worn it.
Had seen a few make reasonable money and I'd be happy if it made back the fiver i paid, it's now at nearly a tenner plus postage so it's already double itself with a few days to go!
One of the straps I bought from our favourite eBay seller is also selling for more than I paid for it!
Hopefully when everything finishes I might have a reasonable amount to invest in one or maybe two over budget watches!

I know this might be a long shot, but is the brand MuDU familiar to any of you chaps?
If it is, what do you know about them?
Have to say I had never heard of them before your post. Just read an article on them, very interesting history, thanks for that, learn something new everyday. If it is, what do you know about them?

On Sunday 22nd May 1994 he gave me his MuDu. By the following morning he’d sadly passed away. For obvious reasons it’s a brand I’ve been keen on ever since, but it’s also a brand that there seems to be very little information about. All I do know is that they were good quality Swiss ‘bitsa’ watches, often using a Fesla movement, which I believe was also used in several other high quality Swiss brands, and that for whatever reason they were black market watches sold in dodgy pubs, (which fits in well with Grandads colourful means of becoming a pretty wealthy man).
Here’s a few of mine. Sadly most of them are non-runners. One of these days I’ll get round to sending them all down to Joe Horner in Anglesey for him to restore.
And here’s a few more from my collection. There are others but I don’t have photos of them on this phone.

Yeah, I think I might have a problem when it comes to buying watches.
