Happy 1980 everybody!

Timex website has these in gold at £132 plus a 20% discount but I preferred the silver

That's very cool. The only uncool thing is, I have blown my Xmas budget so massively that I can't afford it until at least March. If Barchetta hadn't coerced me into that Longines purchase for the missus, that would be in Santa's sack quicker than you could say 'Reaganomics'.

There, Barchettaman. See what you've done.

Think of the Christmas favours you will accrue when Mrs Rabbit sets her eyes on the sparkly trinket, then thank me.

Now, I do have that one incoming (courtesy of mother in law) so it's not all bad. At all.

I do love ana-digi watches. A full lcd analog face is my preference but my personal unicorn watch (I won't say 'grail' - that's for the powerfully built directors' thread) is this...

Unobtainium both for price and availability. So I'm happy to just look at the pics!

There is one in the UK from a dealer on Chrono24 for £1365. Unlikely to lose much value in the future I would have thought so sell it to yourself as an investment !

Two things about that...

1) When vintage lcd watches fail, they fail. You'll never get a replacement module or find anyone to repair one apart from the manufacturer if you're lucky. My friend has an Omega Albatross which cost an eye-watering amount to get working. Too much of a gamble as an investment in my view.

2) I'm stony broke.

New addition to the fold, eBay purchase. Came on a grey Nato style quick release strap but swapped it out for this Watch Gecko leather rally strap.

CousinsUK sell the same straps, worth going to if you’re getting a few bits…

Latest addition to the extended collection (my lad’s that is) arrived today, keeping it under wraps at the moment as it’s a surprise for him on Saturday. I won it in a YouTube channel competition, which is a first for me…
