Nice videos. That's a very pretty movement in the 5170 for sure. Gorgeous.
However, that does not come anywhere near to explaining the price. Most of the man hours are spent in polishing and this is not done by watchmakers but by minimum wage migrant labour shipped into Geneva for that purpose. It is routine process work, not the skilled stuff of Geneva gnomes.
I am quite a fan of Patek's stuff and often wear a 5110 myself. But I am under no illusion that I did anything other than pay an impudently high price for an essentially mass-produced product. That said, Patek's history of supporting their market price means that you don't lose money on them long term.

I've seen the Omega vs PP before but not the other. Great videos that tread that fine line by explaining the differences without making anyone feel that that they'll either overpay for the expensive pieces and also not receive junk when purchasing the cheaper ones - there's "value" to be had with all options.

Great Videos. Nice to know you are not paying for the name, just fantastic workmanship, unbelievable tolerances and finishing. Thanks for posting
