I've found a 2016 December registered, factory sealed, 104060, for 5.7k. Worth going for?

Anything I need to check when buying? Such as whats on the warranty card and where it's registered?

Stupid question, but how does the warranty work if it's not registered in your name?

Warranty follows the watch, not stuck with original buyer...

If you buy a steel bezel model, then look for a 4 line model. The certified chrono model.

More desirable.

Thanks for the feedback so far everyone. If I was to buy from Chrono24 or Iconic Watches do they get delivered directly to your house or do you have to pick the watch up from a store?

Also what is the difference with buying from an AD and off a website such as Chrono24 or Iconic Watches?

Lastly, would it be best to ensure it has box and papers for maintaining resale value in the future?

Sorry this is all very new to me.
Box and papers are 1000000% a must have.

My old man bought a 14060M from Chrono24, was his first watch purchase and picked one at a reasonable price from a UK dealer with lots of reviews and positive feedback. Arrived in the post not long after, no problems at all.

Have you looked at other Submariner references and, as some have said, nearly new watches? The submariner has barely changed in decades.

Thinking about it, you spoke about a black bay feeling a bit chunky. The recent generations of the submariner have been changes to the lugs (amongst other things) to make the watch seem a bit larger, without increasing the diameter. Despite both being 40mm, a 14060M submariner feels noticeably slimmer than the latest ceramic bezel models.

Worth a thought,

Tim

As you are reasonably local, have you tried E P Mallory & Son in Bath? They’re an AD and I waited around 12 weeks for mine, no deposit required. This was June last year.

So I finally found one in London second hand. 4 months old unworn with box and papers etc.

Picked it up Monday and been wearing it since. Absolutely love it. Here's a pic:

Has supply changed since last July?

The first local-ish AD I phoned back then, who I'd never spoken to before, said I could have the Sub Date in his safe and reserved it for me over the phone.

The 2nd one, which I had used before and was more local, said I could have one the next month.

Supply is not meeting demand for stainless steel sports watches. Watchfinder are charging a £8250 for a 2017 Sub date, mrsp is £6250.

A couple of ADs quoted me two years. I did however manage to get one within a month after being bumped to the top of a waiting list.

For the black face, non. Hulk is £6600 though. Black face is £6250 which is what WF are charging a £2000 premium for.

Bagged mine for 6.1k which for unworn and 4 months old was pretty good. They seem to be sat around 6-7k dependent on condition and age.

That's for the non date mind you.

The Sub non date is a cracking watch, you have made a good choice.
