OP why do you want a fake watch?
Just buy a real watch they aren't expensive
Well a genuine Rolex for example is very expensive, at least for me it is! I own a few watches ranging in value from £20 to £250---- they all keep perfect time! Just buy a real watch they aren't expensive

I just like the looks of Rolex watches-- could never afford a genuine one but I could afford a good replica. I have no desire to, or intention of "fooling" anyone.
I simply asked the question to protect myself from scams.
To answer other replies I came across these forums during my research. So I joined today to simply ask the question- no hidden agenda in my "first post" as alluded to earlier.
Beginning to regret asking for guidance.

Seriously though, be aware of the mercury often used in fake watches, it is a genuine issue.
Why do they have mercury in them?I'm no expert on fake watches, but it's something to be aware of. They can be quite safe, at least I hope so as I've got a couple of nhs dental ones!, but some mixtures will undoubtedly allow it to leach into the body.
If you buy/import fake Panerais and try to sell them on, Panerai will successfully sue for the value of each original watch. I think someone got "stung" on one of the UK forums a while ago.
It's those fake G-shocks with the thermometer. They use mercury rather than modern tech.
I'm kidding. Interested to know meself.

Have a look at Steinhart watches. They are homages rather than blatant replicas, but they are entirely legit and have a range of Rolex sub and GMT homages that should happily fit your budget.I just like the looks of Rolex watches-- could never afford a genuine one but I could afford a good replica. What answers did you expect, I mean asking about fake or replica watches on a respected Watch Forum. I wonder if you are related to Tiggerbits or another one of his alter egoshilly10 said:

I never thought "replicas" should never be mentioned. Your "conspiracy" theory is absolute nonsense.

Thank you very much. Have just found that site.Apologies if you aren't "tiggerbits" under a new user name.
I'd agree with the others who have suggested Steinhart if you want something that looks like a Rolex, but isn't a fake or replica.
I've owned a Rolex Sub non-date for about 15 years. I bought a Steinhart LV Sub homage a few years ago, as I couldn't justify buying another Rolex, but wanted a decent watch with a green bezel insert.
Steinhart's quality is top notch, up there with big brand watches costing a couple of grand IMHO. The one I bought has an ETA 2824-2 movement. Not the last word in haute horologie, but a reliable Swiss workhorse that's been fitted in a multitude of watches over the years. No problem for a watch maker to fix it if it goes wrong. The rest of the watch is nicely finished, too. I feel that it's 90% of a Rolex for 5% of the price. They even hold their value pretty well on the secondhand market. The brand has quietly gained quite a following in it's own right.
I also have a fake Rolex LV, which I posted about a few weeks ago on another thread (one that tiggerbits started, IIRC). It's the type with a fake Rolex movement, and it's original owner would have paid several times the price of a Steinhart to buy it. It is a pretty good copy, but the time keeping isn't great. No way is it worth buying over a Steinhart.
Another option would be a modified Seiko SKX 007 or 009. I've got one of those too, still has a Seiko dial, but replacement bezel insert, hands and bracelet. Plenty of mod parts on the net to give it the "sub look".
I also built my own "sterile dial" (no brand name or logos) sub-alike, using a case and bracelet from China, and dial and hands from the USA. It's fitted with an ETA 2824-2 movement that I pulled from a scrap watch with a rough case.
Both of these options would be a bit cheaper than a Steinhart, and in no way fake.

Tiggerbits your thread has arrived!
Maybe he is tiggerbits?OP, there are many really good watches to suit all budgets, and I would recommend spending your money on one of them rather than a fake. Replica is too kind of a word for what they are, fake is much better.
Here's some sub £1000 alternatives to a Rolex which I think give you the feel / idea of it but at the same time coming from a respectable watch brand.
Rolex datejust - why not a Seiko sarb033?
Rolex submariner / GMT - why not steinhart?
Rolex explorer - why not Sinn556a?
If you did truly get here through a Google search, maybe next time you do something similar read through a couple of the threads and see what people's opinions are on the subject matter before starting a new thread?

Thanks for those links I will have a look. The look I am after comes from the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Range--any homages for these anyone?OP, there are many really good watches to suit all budgets, and I would recommend spending your money on one of them rather than a fake. And yes I agree I posted too soon - impatience is one of my many failings!
