Could anyone confirm the price for s/s Submariner in UK? I'm in Brazil at the moment, they are in all ADs windows (with and without date) and the rate conversion is good. No Daytonas or GMT so far.
There's a Rolex pricelist here.https://www.globalwatchshop.co.uk/blog/features/ro...
For the Submariner:
- No Date: £5,450
- Date: £6,250
- Green: £6,600

Is this all very recent? I bought a steel Daytona a couple of years ago ten minutes after walking into the shop, got a blue and black GMT at a charity auction, an explorer II from a shop with no wait and a ceramic Daytona with about a year’s Delay which seems OK for such an in-demand figure.
I got the wife’s submariner in a week too.
Last few years. In 2015 I bought a brand new white faced steel Daytona at list from a dealer in a day. Same year I walked into Mappin & Webb and they offered me 0% finance on a green Sub they had in the window. I managed to try on two of the most sought after PP Nautilus (pre owned) in an afternoon and both were offered at least 10% below list. I got the wife’s submariner in a week too.
Pictures taken in March 2015.

Sure have, they'll change again at some point!
Not any time soon is my guess.I pondered Rolex's problem a year and a half ago when I was amazed at how everyone bar Tesco was selling grey market Rolexes. They had to do something to protect the brand and it looks like they are doing it.
That's assuming of course that the limited supply will be across the board, and not just limited to steel sports.

I'd see any change coming from the demand side rather than supply. There will come a time when the prospect of begging for an £8k steel watch will be remembered fondly. Either that or George Osborne really did managed to achieve what Gordon Brown claimed to have! I don't see demand for Rolex drying up any time soon on economic grounds.

When was this? S/S sports watches are almost non-existent currently. Just been into an AD in Haarlem NL and they have nothing; won't even put a prospective buyer's name on a waiting list for a sub any more.
Two Christmases ago. List price, from an independent dealer, with the box and proper paperwork.Mayb I’ve just been lucky but the only watch I ever waited for was the ceramic Daytona, and I got that in a very reasonable time.

They aren't a lot of money though, are they, and you can have 0% finance for a couple of years I think.
This is something that people forget. A good Rolex can still be had for the cost of a cheap new Fiesta, or a week for a family of five in Centre Parks. Yes, it’s a lot of money for a watch, but most families in the UK, if they wanted one, could find the way to finance one relatively easily. The world is awash with cheap money, And a lot of people are happy to take it and spend it today and to worry about the future later.

When do you think interest rates are going to bit [sic] then?
no idea but the whole world can’t keep deficit spending and printing currency. Sooner or later inflation/hyperinflation has to hit and when it does......there will only be 4 commodities that matter. SS Rolex’s won’t be one of them.Gassing Station | Watches | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
