I'm tempted by the 39mm OP in white. I think my Mrs would wear it too. Looks much nicer in the metal than in photo's, it's a very soft matt white.
The white is so clean looking almost clinical. Just a beautiful range of perfect wrist watches

Bought mine 30 years ago for £1400 (it was 6 months old and the owner part exed it for a solid gold one!!) .............

Thing of beauty in my eyes - was offered 3.5k for it last year, could of done with the cash at the time but couldn’t bear to part with it.

Aren’t all these watches perpetuals (or Datejusts) in oyster cases?

I thought the precision was an older discontinued manual wound (non COSC) watch and perpetual as the name suggests is self winding.

Or is the precision just a common name for an oyster perpetual?

OP’s watch is not “precision” or Oysterdate

No it’s a perpetual as I said. Yours is a Datejust isn’t it?

Yep a Perpetual Datejust - not seen a Precision posted here.

Yes that’s the question I’m asking.

Why are you posting pictures of a Datejust in a thread about Rolex precisions?

Are perpetuals (and Datejust’s) known as precision still?

I thought the precision was a different watch? It seemed odd that a thread titled “Rolex precision” didn’t actually have any Rolex precisions in it?

That’s why I’m asking if perpetuals and Datejusts like yours are known as precision in Rolex circles or is it just that they have the same kind of case?

Precision was the range of lower end Rolexes without COSC certification - for example, the older Air Kings. It's nothing to do with being automatic or not.

The title of the thread is therefore a bit misleading, as it's about the entry level Oyster Perpetual (automatic) watches. These are of course COSC certified, as shown by the 'Superlative Chronometer' - Rolexes own term.

They are also very nice watches! I'd definitely go for one of I didn't have a Milgauss.

Since wearing my OP today with a suit I think I have found the perfect understated dress watch and with a 7 and a half inch wrist the 36mm is the perfect size
