Still got the TAG Heuer F1 I bought in the late 80's, although it's not seem much wrist time for a long time, it was my daily wearer for many years and seems tiny now but it still sits ticking away in the watch box, think I paid about £180 for it new including the optional steel bracelet.
Just bought another F1 30 years later, all be it the Aston Martin 'special'.
Quite a few in the F1 range with the colour TAG logo and I quite like them, although my main weakness is for original Heuer's, ie pre TAG.

Am guessing the F1 range is quartz ?
Not all of them, some use the Calibre 5 or Calibre 16 Chronograph Automatic movement.https://www.tagheuer.com/en-gb/watches/tag-heuer-f...

I am a big watch fan and my understanding is that the perhaps outdated view of them, is that they charge a lot for a nice case but chuck in a mass produced movement.
So more bling than substance essentially. I think they are changing things and moving away from that image slowly, but as others have suggested, just buy what makes you happy.
I do like some of the Monaco variants, but if it were my money it would be directed to the Omega option you mentioned. The 2nd hand values are generally quite poor, so it is unlikely to be an investment, but it sounds like something you have to do.

I have this on right now and love it.
It gets more compliments than any other watch I own and I think is a bargain. Put 'Hublot' on the dial and it would be 10x the price (I know they are related brands now).
Go for what you like and sod everyone else.
Snap. I have the Titanium version. Love it. It gets more compliments than any other watch I own and I think is a bargain. Put 'Hublot' on the dial and it would be 10x the price (I know they are related brands now).

I don’t give a rats what people think of it on here. I like it so end of.
The colour logo used to denote that the model was quartz, and non red/green logo indicates the model is an automatic.
I’ve had an Aquaracer chrono since 2007 and it’s never missed a beat, but it’s had a fairly tough life and is now wearing its age so I’ve been looking at a calibre 5 aquaracer with ceramic bezel as a replacement.

Doesn’t seem quite that clear cut any more, while all the Autos appear to have a mono logo, so do some of the Quartz, my Aston Edition is quartz and that has a mono logo. raceboy said:

I read it somewhere and from my perusal of the range at the time it seemed to ring fairly true. A bit of a shame that the red/green logo isn’t more prevalent, as I rather like it.Gassing Station | Watches | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
