I apologise if I have got it wrong. I viewed the picture on my phone and when I zoomed in on the end link it didn't look right to me. I am sorry. The trouble is that people are posting pictures of fakes on this thread and it's becoming difficult to tell from the pictures. I should just shut my mouth. lostkiwi said:
No probs . Possibly looks odd because it's not only the wrong strap (it shouldn't have a bracelet) and the bracelet is also damaged where it meets the case. It should be tight to the case but has some movement where it suffered a knock.
Ha! So I was partially right! Only joking. Thanks for the reply and apologies again. I've been getting a bee in my bonnet recently about pictures of fakes on this thread and have been looking for anything that didn't seem right. I was wrong. I'll bet it gave some amusement to the usual suspects though. Wear in good health as they say. Fallingup said:

You do know that a decent fake will fool you even if you hold it next to the real stuff in person, let alone a picture on the internet? The "fakes" you can identify on here are 30 quid watches... It's a bit amusing though, that "fakes" ruffle your feathers but the first one you remark on is actually visually of "disappointing quality".
I'd try not to get worked up about it that much, anything over 50 quid is going to be impossible to determine on a picture, and once you're past a couple of hundred you're actually going to have to do a serial number check in the Rolex database as even opening it up in person won't help you.

Yes. I am well aware of that. Which is why I have apologised for wrongly calling out. I will keep my trap shut in future but it is becoming a worrying trend that leads me to doubt the authenticity of any watch posted on this thread.

I don't think he's worked up or has ruffled feathers. I agree with him that the bracelet looks awful quality in that picture and with so many people posting cheapo fake/homages, I'm not surprised he thought it was a fake. Calm down. I'd try not to get worked up about it that much

I am calm. I might have misread "bee under my bonnet", it's not an expression I'm used to.That said, I agree with everything, the part I found was amusing was that IF that was a fake he was ready to jump in and say "look at how horrible that fake looks", followed by an apology upon knowing it's a real Panerai.
It's clear that his type of response is completely dictated by the perceived sticker price of the watch, not the way it looks, which is amusing to me.

That's nice. Actually, it surprises me how much I like that. I don't have a gold watch, could be a useful thing to have and it would (ahem, might) keep my eyes off a gold and black Patek 5205.
The Day-Date In yellow gold is an all time great, the DD40 brings back the classic proportions with a more modern larger size. It is very decadent on the wrist, a ‘must have’ at some point!I also bought the 5205 though so do understand why you like that! I still think it is a very underrated watch, absolutely stunning and amazing finish and detail to it.
After close to 2 years with both of them though I think I prefer the Day-Date myself.

Oh gosh. That is just beautiful. After close to 2 years with both of them though I think I prefer the Day-Date myself.
I nearly spent the extra and bought the white gold, blue faced model but in the end I went for the cheaper white gold and blue dialled Lange 1, whihc I think is a little more unusual, distinctive and better value for money. The itch for the 5205 never went away though, and I don't have any gold cased watches of any kind.

Great choice with the Lange! The blue dial 5205 is very very nice, but I think the black and rose gold is the best and is a very rare combination on PP annual calendars, normally reserved for grand complications - it certainly feels very grand and special on the wrist.I nearly spent the extra and bought the white gold, blue faced model but in the end I went for the cheaper white gold and blue dialled Lange 1, whihc I think is a little more unusual, distinctive and better value for money.
