The damasko watches with ice steel look interesting
They’re incredible quality. My Damasko had almost a decade of regular use and abuse, from desk diving to DIY. Yet it looked as new as the day I’d bought it: not a single scratch or mark. Incredible.

They feel premium quality too. The bezel action, for example, feels the best of any watch I’ve ever handled.

I wear a Tudor Pelagos as an everyday watch eg happy to wear it when I’m doing diy and such like. I take off more delicate watches eg an old sub or my Advisor when there is any risk of damage.

i purchased one of these almost twelve months ago, albeit with a bracelet, rather than a strap. John Lewis were selling them for £268.00, but I paid £160 for mine off Ebay. It was brand new in its sealed box with all papers and tags, and although I bought it as a daily, it is as good as any more expensive watches that I own. It has not gained or lost a second since i bought it, it looks good, and more importantly the quality is excellent! Can fully recommend!

I have the exact same model pictured. Very good but rarely worn.

I would go for the Citizen every time for an every day watch. They do make one which costs a grand and it`s so thin you could shave with it but the £100 ones are just as accurate and good enough for me.

Definitely a Sinn or Damasko three hander at that price point.

Chronomaster sell both - no connection other than as a happy customer.
100% agree, cannot go wrong they have a very nice Damasko on now at £800

Firstly, thank you all again for taking the time to make suggestions and give advice. I much appreciate it.

Secondly I thought it would be good to give a update too. It’s never good when a thread doesn’t have a end!

I really liked the range from damasko suggested, especially second hand at around £800 ish. A far more attractive price for a watch I don’t want to care about too much and just wear. Then on a Chrono24 saved search, up popped a SAR rescue timer in Germany at a attractive price. I couldn’t resist and it arrived in the mail today.

The watch feels very solid and well made and looks good on my wrist too. Which I’m happy about as I took the plunge without trying one on! It has only a couple of superficial scratches which is ok for me, means I shouldn’t baby it too much for long! No box, but again that doesn’t bother me as it’ll be on my wrist rather than a safe as a investment. I’m sure that also helped keep the price down a bit too wink

Hopefully I’ll be happy with it and I’m sure it’ll do the job perfectly. Off to the jewellers tomorrow to have the bracelet resized then it’ll be on my wrist.

Not a big fan of that bezel, but that bracelet and face look great!

Thank you, I listened to everyone’s advice then went with the heart on a impulse. That’s the way these things are meant to be done, right!

The black bezel is a functional part of the watch, it’s a rubber bumper to prevent shock going into the watch. It’s quite hard though so won’t damage easily. It’s actually the metal between it and the crystal that has the small bit of damage from where something has caught it. Hopefully it’ll keep good time, if not off for a service it goes. Then many happy years ahead hopefully. Unlike my Rolex which keeps on having problems.

That SAR is definitely one that should withstand a few knocks as that's what it was built for. No need to worry about showering with it either at 1000m water resistance!

I'm very happy with my Mühle Glasshütte big 29er - the quality feels to be right up there with watches three times the price so I'm sure you will be too.
