Another one here.I must admit knowing the standard of clientele (and the fluids that go with them) they will deal with an f91w as a work wearer makes a lot of sense. I've never been in the police but a past job saw me dealing with scum of the earth fairly frequently and I didn't want to wear anything I'd had on at work when I wasn't there. It was borderline a strip at door and and straight in to shower job.
I certainly wouldn't have wanted to wear a nice watch. But I loved my f91ws, I got through 2 in about 3 years and they are so cheap when the strap went on the first I didn't even bother replacing it I just bought a new watch.
Notes from eight years in:
Metal watches can make your wrist cold in winter if you’re stood in a scene for hours. He might want to dip his watch in hibiscrub or alcohol gel when it’s covered in blood. The plastic strap retainers can break and the higher end G-Shocks are almost £30 to replace unless you use a rubber band. Get something that has the day/date (I think there’s only one Casio that gives the option of day/date on the display in UK day/month rather than US month/day...)
Anyway for my 2p get a G-Shock, get a fully digital, easily visible jobby, just don’t go mad. Funky colours are Job-acceptable.
