Buy a load of stuff you don't really want to become a preferred customer, spend hours in store demonstrating knowledge of the brand; you know basically all the normal stuff you do just to be selected & offered the chance to purchase a SS sports watch.
Oooooow someone sounds a bit bitter, whats the matter cant get hold of the watch you want?? What is it with some of you lot on here? Firstly i have not bought anything i didnt want. I dont really know much about Rolex as i have a life so dont spend hours in the shop talking about them! And to be honest the reason most dont get on any list is because they normaly have no personality and have nothing better to do than moan about they cant get on a list to buy the watch they really want,so they get bitter and angry. As i said before im not trying to get into a slagging match with everyone on here, but i just asked a honest question and most replies are sarcastic replies. WHY?? I think we all know why.

Not at all.. I have the Rolex I want. Went into the store looked at various models of SS sports watch walked out with the one I wanted. This was less than 2 years ago.

It makes me chuckle when I hear people going on about smooth talking the assistants, talking knowingly about the brand!! So I need a personality now to own one .... rofl come on listen to yourselves... you have to admit it's all a bit silly!!

So the OP gets invites from Rolex, has spent a chunk of cash with them and builds "relationships " with them ,but knows nothing about Rolex as he does not hang around the shop sucking up to them ? haha

You're sounding foolish now mate.

Dont see the big issue with going to something like this, being from Yorkshire i'm all for a free meal and drinks!

Me and the Missus went, had a great time, Verve Champagne, wine, 3 course meal, cocktails after dinner, all complimentary so whats not to like?

The bonus was got to look at and try on nice watches. Met some nice people, funnily enough many were into cars as well so maybe spoke more about cars than the watches themselves, Happy days.

P.S i also have one of the watches I've wanted, but happy to wait for my next one (hopefully a Sub hulk) and no brown nosing done! just a nice evening out with the Missus :-)

I say go and enjoy, we will certainly be going to any future events we are invited to.

Absolutely no big issue, but it is a bit pretentious starting a thread about it.

You will then get the piss ripped out of you for it on here, but if you then don't take that in the right spirit you are going to get even worse!

So Suland lighten up. You are probably a really nice guy, but don't go getting a bit uppity because you get the piss taken over somehing like this It goes with the territory.

yeah heaven forbid he might want to meet other pistonheads?

I'm not, but I wish I were, I always enjoy talking to people who are into watches.

Free to those that can afford it, very expensive to those that can’t.

I was once referred to as 'a high net worth individual' by Kevin McCloud of Grand Designs at a free weekend in the Cotswolds where I was given an i8 to drive around in.

I'm all for a freebie.

Most people on here are playing with you, you are biting, so they keep doing it.

A special dinner for Rolex's special customers, given other threads, is only ever going to lead to a piss take. That's the territory.

As I said you are probably a decent bloke, lighten up a bit, have a laugh about the silliness of the current Rolex market.

I specifically asked to not to be invited to anything like this or any other "day out", it just isn't for me at all.

God forbid, you have an incredible memory!

Well, that just shows how fickle I am, despite asking not to be invited I'd still like to be asked, in fact begged might be even better!
