Never heard of Belmoto before now, i'm glad you posted that, i really like the look of the Track Day and Tourer watches. Free w/wide shipping from NZ, might partake ?
Belmoto is the other brand of Magrette founder Dion McAsey. I don't have a Belmoto, but have (and have had) several Magrettes, so I'd have no hesitation in buying one if I was in the market.

Likewise. I currently have 2 Magrettes - the original Bronze (which is actually trumpet brass! - long story) and the Kara anniversary (which is titanium). The Kara is my most worn piece.

I'd have absolutely no problems buying a Belmoto or Magrette.

I knew I wanted a CHR from the moment I saw one on this thread, but spent ages deciding whether to go for a 1 or a 3. I finally decided on a 3 as I think the silver case wears better with a shirt/suit if needed, and I have a black Steinhart Ocean already. I emailed Roue at the weekend to get the 10% discount code as I'd not written it down and got chatting to Alex, the founder, via mail.

The good news is that my CHR3 is on the way...the bad news is I have bought the last one, and he does not repeat models, so I am very glad I opted for the 3! It arrives before the weekend...looking forward to it. Apparently he has a new chronograph coming out later this year, less retro but very "Roue" apparently!

Very glad I did not buy the Autodromo Prototipo a while ago as I do think the CHR has it on looks.

Same as mine and the best colourway IMO, but I have to admit I’m a bit gutted they aren’t selling any more!

I was genuinely thinking about buying one as a spare given they are so cheap.

Ok, so this one isn’t ‘affordable’... $41,000

But an interesting Retro/Race watch.

Had it 2 months now.

I like it that much that it’s what I choose to wear 9/10 when I put a watch on.

The quality is superb.

I have a GMT II and a few other watches, and I barely look at any of them at the moment. Just go straight for this.

I love the style of it, but I also like that it’s different and fairly anonymous. When you wear a Rolex (or similar) people make a judgement about you, which may be either good or bad.

This doesn’t come with any of that ‘baggage’. It’s just a really nice watch which people admire.

You don't quite get affordable in this context.
Good luck getting one.

Still loving it? How do they stand up to daily use?

I’ve just seen the new TPS and think a purchase is in order

Yes, I still wear it at least 2-3 days every week. It has been excellent. Showing no signs of wear and I still feel the build quality is excellent.

A friend of mine recently bought the TPS and was extremely impressed when it arrived. Couldn't believe how nice it was for the money.

Bored stless with Rolex just now.
Nearly went for a 1970's Seiko Panda this week, very handsome watch. And would fit in this thread apart from the price maybe.

Thanks, good to know!

Which colour did your friend go with? I like the black but also wonder if I could pull off the grey. The engraving on the back swung it for me, looks a great daily wear for the money.

He went for the white face, black sub dials, with grey strap. It looks really nice, but personally for me, the black face with black strap, or the grey face with brown strap are the nicest.

If I was forced to choose it would be the black face with black leather strap.

Excellent shout there.

That's a chinese quartz movement in a standard square case that many car manufacturers sell as branded watches. I picked up a Toyota one with very similar hands and that movement about 5 years ago for £25 used so it was probably £60 in the dealer.

I should NOT have read this thread.

Didn't even make it to page 3 before I had made an offer on an almost new 40mm orange Dan Henry 1970.

Luckily the owner wanted more than my offer so I had the chance to count to three..........and contemplate buying a new one!

Just a heads up if anybody's interested:

These are launching tomorrow: https://www.granpremiowatches.com/

199 Euros start off price, which isn't bad.

Kinda like the orange and silver/blue ones. smile

Miyota movement according to website, hope so anyway, just received one. Bought for £99 thanks to a tip off on the under £200 watch thread.
