Any Vacheron owners on here?

It makes me wonder what someone would buy a ceramic Daytona for double retail but you can get a hand made watch with a the Geneva seal for same money.

I'm having a hard job resisting the new overseas chronograph with the panda dial, particularly with a big birthday (for me...not the wife) coming up next year.
The three straps make the watch extremely versatile and the finishing was excellent on the one I tried on. The fact that VC isn't as obvious is a massive attraction to me.
I am regularly surprised by the numbers of PP and AP I see on people's wrists in London, particularly in my gym, and it makes me want something different and less of a status symbol.
You could pay even less if you considered the Girard-Perregaux Laureatos, although you’d be giving up the quick strap change mechanism. The three straps make the watch extremely versatile and the finishing was excellent on the one I tried on. However, you’d also gain the option of a full ceramic case and bracelet too, for superior scratch resistance.

… With all three being Gerald Genta designs, the three are quite closely linked. ...
By “all three”, I presume you’re referring to the Overseas as being one of them?If so, then you’re incorrect, as Vacheron Constantin never hired Genta. It was Jorge Hysek who penned the design of the VC222, from which the Overseas emanated and has evolved since.

Exactly that, I used to really want a Royal Oak or Nautilus but they just don't seem as special to me any longer - I see far too many around to consider them as exclusive as they might be elsewhere.
Its still a £20k watch, i dont see that many outside the mayfair bubble. PJ S said:

I am indeed incorrect about Genta (although that was what I was told by the sales guy at WoS on regent Street and there are plenty of incorrect websites still claiming that). Thanks for the info! I had an Ingenieur, which you’ll probably know was a Genta design - there is something about the look of all four of the watches that I find quite similar.

That’s true but I work in W1 and don’t far away from the office, so I see see a few dozen Aquanauts / Nautilus / ROO everyday - and that’s excluding what I see in the windows I walk past most days.

I wear a ROC or a 5711 most days, you get the odd nice watch comment but thats about it. Take it somewhere outside london and you either get someone who knows what it is and is like amazed etc, or everyone else, the majority, dont know and dont care. Both fantastic watches but I see too many of both to get excited anymore. I was obsessed with the Nautilus for years but now they just don’t do it for me and the ROC looks too small on my wrist to boot. Mosdef said:
I quite like Perregaux but seeing them at Bicester has put me off them and as you say, the 3 strap options set the VC apart.

Don’t let the fact you saw the G-P Laureato there put you off, use it to your advantage by saving a good chunk of money. The Clou de Paris dial is something I find much more interesting than the RO/ROO Tapisserie.I am indeed incorrect about Genta (although that was what I was told by the sales guy at WoS on regent Street and there are plenty of incorrect websites still claiming that). They would certainly be a huge step up from the Ingenieurs.
I have a VC Overseas in rose gold. Bought new about 3 years ago.
I thought very carefully about an AP Royal Oak Offshore in rose gold and the PP 5712R at the time. Whilst they are all great watches, I picked the one I thought best suited my wrist.
I have a ceramic IWC for regular day to day wear but I do still like my Overseas

Yup not many VC owners probably due to value retention in comparison.
Too right, watches of Switzerland selling new the absolutely beautiful Fiftysix Day date for £15,000 but chrono24 have numerous unworn mint examples, full set for £10- £11,000 With everyone wanting SS Rolex and AP it really is a great time to buy anything else.
An unworn 2019 Vacheron Constantin fiftysix day date is now cheaper than most of the Rolex GMT 116710LNs listed on chrono24. That was a £6000 watch a few months ago.
Madness.
