Anyone had 'the call' about a SS Sub/GMT etc recently.
Be nice to have a few more of these filtering into actual shops.
Not getting my hopes up anytime soon though.
If you are after a Pepsi you may well never get the call because everyone believes it is going to be discontinued imminently which will mean prices will shoot up. talk in the watch communities about no one seeing a new one for some time now and those that have them are hanging on hoping for a price jump

Just a no date submariner. Only been 5 months. Was a few posts a few months ago from several people getting contacted so wondered if this trend had continued. Another 12 month's or so and I'll prob give up and look at buying grey.

Grey prices now on no-date subs are pretty close to retail anyway, no?

The bubble must be bursting as even a lowly spender such as I has been nominated for 2 meteorite dial watches (1 daytona, 1 GMT) in the last 6 months or so (didn't actually get allocated either though!)

Surely the bubble has burst?!

In other news, congrats to the lucky buggers that got them!

If I could find a 41mm Sub close to retail, then I'd seriously think about it.

Seems like loads under list or do you only want one from watchfinder etc?

https://www.chrono24.com/search/index.htm?query=Ro...

Actually even watchfinder has non dates under list. https://www.watchfinder.co.uk/Rolex/Submariner/wat...

Can’t see any 41mm watches under list on watchfinder, or am I being a bit dense?

Likewise, even a 30 year old one is still slightly above list.

Not burst yet!!
Was staying at Gleneagles at the weekend for wife’s birthday. Popped into the Rolex shop and she saw a lovely 28 Datejust with oyster bracelet, fluted bezel and pink dial. Was about £7k.
Salesman came out asked us to sit down got it out the cabinet and put it on her wrist.
She said she loved it and as it was her birthday (50th) she’d just buy it as a present to herself.
Salesman said it wasn’t for sale took it off her wrist and put it back in the cabinet.
What the actual feck! I actually laughed at him and said what’s the point of you having models in a hotel where guests would purchase on the spur of the moment to be told no!
Pissed me off a bit and left a bit of a sour note on a fantastic weekend.
Thought about mentioning it to the hotel GM as it doesn’t reflect well on them having an outlet on their premises that could give a guest a lasting feeling of dissatisfaction after spending a lot of money to stay there.
Tbh it saved us £7k as it would have been a spur of the moment thing and she barely wears her bimetal datejust and never wears her omega constellation.
It’s hardly even a difficult model to get, is it?
It being 28mm I’m surprised they didn’t let you buy it……..31mm being much more in demand.

You’re new here aren’t you hehe

I’ve been waiting for a larger DJ for my wife for bloody months now. Quite surprised as I’ve never waited more than a few weeks on the other watches we’ve bought from them.
Thought you’d have that by now…….guessing 31mm/Fluted/Oyster/MOP dial?

The ideal was 36mm black dial, oyster, smooth bezel.

Tbh I haven’t been pushing it. My wife is a magpie and doesn’t need another DJ (she already has a smaller one) so I’ll happily not push for it hehe

Randomly we went into Goldsmiths to enquire how long a wait would be for a 36mm OP in turquoise would be (we are on a list elsewhere)

4 years minimum.

Well, list is £8,050

Lowest UK priced 124060 on C24 is £8,900

If sold direct without commission, possibly £8,400

She liked it. Don’t get the whole try it on smoozing you to get you excited about it only to pull the rug away. He did say they had a nice day date he could sell her.
Again I don’t get that. Go in to car dealer to buy a convertible and you sit in and are told you can’t buy it but there’s a lovely truck you can have.
Puts you off the whole thing tbh. It does Not create a “want” it pushes my missus the other way.
You should have threatened to sue them when they offered you the day date instead....

Hey all,

I've read through a fair amount of the 600+ pages which has been very informative so thanks!

I've put my name down on Submariner date about 6 months ago with no spend history with an AD so should hopefully hear back in 6-42 months!
;-)

Anyone else can give an example of how long they've recently waited in the same scenario as it would be good to have a better idea of potential timelines?

Out of interest, how close to list is a brand new grey market Submariner date now?

Thanks!
JM

Anywhere between £1500-£2500 over by my estimation

See also this post - I think the poster is in the industry. Could be wrong on that though.
