As a family man, surely there are better places to bring up kids and have less stress yourself?

I do wonder why people know that there are issues, that aren't going to be resolved, continue to remain there.

You have the means, and ability. Move away from the toxic environment ... enjoy your watches, enjoy the space, enjoy not having to be worried if you left a window open, door unlocked...... it is quite liberating.

(he says having come ot London from Scotland and had to chose which watch to bring....)
I think perhaps HF now sees why big houses in proper Saaarf London are cheaper. You do get some proper wrong uns knocking about. I’m between Brixton and Clapham myself and the difference between the two is dramatic!

But you don’t need to go far in either direction before things get drastically better. I’ve just been for lunch in Barnes, it was lovely and not a whiff of the general decay and drama you get in South London.

Anyway, I noted a guy wearing a root beer in Brixton recreation center soft play earlier this month so I don’t think everyone worries too much. My wife wears a Rolex daily and hasn’t ever had an issue. And I usually do too, no dramas either.
I'm in Purley at the moment and it is safe enough not to worry (I think) - but then driving to Norbury to see a friend and there were chaps walking around in balaclavas in the daytime - and it was nice and warm today.....

Managed to pickup this beauty from WoS Regent street yesterday. It was just by chance I stopped by and caught up with a sales rep who’d previously sold me my wife’s DJ36 around 5yrs ago.

I mentioned I was interested in checking out the Explorer 1 40mm and was surprised when the rep said another customer passed up on one earlier in the day and that they could offer me it. No wait list, just as it should be. The rest is history, love it.

Great watch, enjoy in good health!

Registered at a well known dept store for a DJ41, I was already on the system under a different address from 15 years ago. The SA seemed surprised I might perhaps have moved house in 15 years... was like a job interview for Goldman Sachs!

Not expecting a call

I visited Rolex at LHR T5 last week. I overheard a guy moaning that he had been waiting 6 years for a Daytona (didn't hear what type). The salesman assured him it will definitely happen.

EDIT: From what I gathered the only stock they had available were precious metal Sky-Dwellers.

For a long time these went under the radar for me whilst the usual Submariners, Pepsi’s etc had my attention however as I’ve aged a bit and tastes change, I saw one of these being worn in the pub a few months ago and I think they might be the perfect ‘one watch’ to be honest. Understated but classy, can be worn with a tshirt or dressed up, timeless. I’m very tempted.

Wear in good health, lovely watch!

Yes, they are very cool, an understated choice.

I'm waiting for one of these:

Will briefly comment on HFs comment. I don’t live too far away - closer to West Dulwich. And can see where his frustrations come from - law & order isn’t even an illusion they’re trying to portray anymore in certain areas around here, which just encourages antisocial behaviour (& worse). Police blaming owners when cars have the cats removed, shop owners exasperated by the lack of police support - not far from me in Crystal Palace a shop owner ended up posting cctv images & videos on a local Facebook group as the youths were emboldened by the lack of consequences.

It wouldn’t take much to at least show they’re trying to make an effort and take concerns of people seriously, and would be nice to actually see the odd bobby on the beat or even regular police cars.

But I’ve gone very off topic. On topics - on the waiting list for a Pepsi for four years now and assuming I’ll never get one!

Maybe not,, but perhaps you'll be first in line for a Coke if that is released?

Really dodgy place London. Apparently Greggs are having to issue staff with body cameras because Londoners are walking in and nicking sausage rolls.
