So my local dealer has lost its AD status they called me to say my list was now closed I can collect my warranty card they were holding for a recent GMT purchase. Back to square one to start the purchase history! This is the 2nd time that this happen to me in 10 years with a store losing their AD status sigh. I only have WOS group near me so I will start there again.
At least you got a GMT, which is more than most people ever will! jgrewal said:

I thought the 'holding o to the warranty card' was a thing of the past.I haven't been asked for that ever.

Flying back from Amsterdam on Monday and I stopped off at the Rolex store and asked what they had in stock.
The guy tells me everything is display model and they have no stock. But they get deliveries every day.
I’d be astonished if they don’t tip off favoured contacts who book the cheapest flight available for just about the time that the new stock is ready for sale! The guy tells me everything is display model and they have no stock. But they get deliveries every day.

I wouldn't be surprised if other buyers have a similar arrangement, rather than pot luck and buy whatever is on the floor.

I would be grateful I even got a phone call never mind a GMT offered....You mention collecting warranty card. I thought the days of keeping warranty cards had ended?

Yes I feel really lucky they called before they lost their status! I didn't argue it as I got the watch but the salesman told me even though this was my 2nd watch from them he has to do it as it was shop policy. Anyway think I'm over the whole charade even if I got a call for DD40 in the spec I wanted I would say no. You mention collecting warranty card. I thought the days of keeping warranty cards had ended?
