My little collection
Discussion
Great update.
Over the last year I got rid of a G shock, a Citizen, a fake rolex and a couple of non descript cheapies.
I added...
G-shock (yellow casioak)
Undone Basecamp Bronze watch - really like this, hasn't had the wear it deserves.
Seiko 5 - Little silver thing that I part exed - really pretty.
Parnis black & rose gold yachtmaster 'homage' - It's a pub watch.... shame I can't go to the pub
DIY Watch Club diver - this is one of my faves - really enjoyed the process of building it, and it looks good.
Pelagos LHD - awesome watch. Love it. Hasn't been off my wrist since I got it.
What hasn't changed...
Speedy. Won't be going anywhere. Ever.
Junghans Max Bill Chrono - just a shame I haven't had any opportunities to wear it.
MK1 Orange Monster
Parnis Portuguese homage. Really like this, very pretty despite being cheap.
All black / negative display G shock.
Future plans -
I have a Steinhart Ceramic Ocean One, had it on bracelet, swapped it to a rubber strap, it's a great watch but when I go for a Diver now I grab the Pelagos or the DIY Watch club. I think it might have to go for the chop.
My 40th this year... I should celebrate this event right? Can't find a birth year watch that I like. The one thing I keep coming back to is a Superocean Heritage. Likely in blue, on the mesh... or maybe the cream dialled version...

Ins and outs for 2020 were as per Andy's thread and I've already started 2021 by ordering another couple of watches
They weren't planned. What is planned for this year, and I've stated this in previous years(!), is to lower the total count as well as the total £ value even if loads go with a few coming in. Whatever my end-of-2021 SOTC watch box looks like my aim is for it to be filled with watches I wear and that I'm genuinely fond of rather than just admiring them for, for example, their brand/model history or because it fills a particular niche. I don't care if I end up with 10 divers, if I know I'm going to rotate them and each one makes me smile then that's good enough for me.
It would be a cliche to use the phrase 'all killa, no filla' however that would some it up, all be it my own interpretation of killa.

Thanks for the summary, and good to hear how your thoughts develop. You've got a nicely balanced collection that suits your needs.Over the last year I got rid of a G shock, a Citizen, a fake rolex and a couple of non descript cheapies.

I do like my SOH42. Breitling make some lovely watches; do you listen to TGN?

I like this approach. I'm getting comfortable with having some watches that see a lot of use, and some that I love using very occasionally. What's clear is that, like you, I need to slim things down. They weren't planned. Fewer, nicer, more regularly used watches is a good aim for '21.
Finally got rid of my damaged watch box (broken glass, ripped interior etc.) and have replaced it with a larger staged stand that seems to work very well and allows me to see everything at once - and was £11 delivered.
At 19 GShocks I think I am at my limit (although the smaller pink on on the second tier up is questionable and I dont believe it to be genuine)
The only items missing are the recent CW bargain and my Apple Watch.

I love this stand! Good effort on the G Shocks too. I wanted one of the red LEs but they sold out in minutes earlier in the week. Been wearing my G Lide quite a bit recently.
Lovely collection
I'd wear any of those, any day.

And if you had to chose between the Batman and the SD4k, which would you keep?Between the Batman and SD4k I like the SD more but the Batman gets so
Much attention and is the more comfortable being slimmer and lighter but the
SD4K feels more special IMHO

I understand, I have both too and can’t decide which I’d sell, the Batman gives me a thrill to look at when I haven’t seen it for a while, I DO love the look and feel of the SD4k but I have other black bezel, steel sports Rolexes and it isn’t comfortable like the Batman, on the other hand is it smarter to keep it due to the limited production? I bought it new with a discount and a good exchange rate, have I had the best appreciation I’m going to get?Between the Batman and SD4k I like the SD more but the Batman gets so

No, watches aren’t an investment but things like this become a consideration when deciding what to sell!
The other factor is that sooner ot later I think I will buy a pre ceramic GMT so that would fill the Batman gap!

That’s a good approach. My dad and brother are the same and rotate often. I am quite lazy and it doesn’t seem to happen. Between the Batman and SD4k I like the SD more but the Batman gets so

My collection, small by comparison with some on here. The bottom row were bought between 2006 and 2016 all while on holiday. The top row all bought this year, since I found this forum. I choose three of the top row but the the orange Tag Formula 1 was a gift. It’s not getting worn so it might be time to move it on, especially after I found the Omega ex-display locally for a good price. It’s hardly been off my wrist since getting it
