I keep eyeing these up at the moment. They look terrific value.

Alright watch people. Only just discovered the Watches forum on here.

Have had this old Omega about 25 years, used to be my grandad's. I think it's from the 50s, not been serviced for maybe 10 years but works like a charm.

Problem is I've got an annoying allergy to leather so have had to swap it onto a nato strap to be able to wear it. Annoys me that I can't find one with gold "bits" (is that the technical term? - the metal bit you poke the strap through) to match the case a bit better. Any ideas for suppliers that might have something?

Welcome to the watch forum,
We're generally a friendly bunch at this edge of the PH site

That's a lovely watch you have there,
"Bits" is a perfectly acceptable description of the pieces you want in gold smile

Hope someone can do some digging for something of more quality than an Evilbay purchase

Otherwise try

I use this supplier a lot, very reliable and good value. If you order more than one they refund the additional postage back to you and you only pay for it once.

Nice one, lots to check out there.

Edited to say, black with gold "bits" sourced and ordered. Thanks again.

This just arrived. Quick dive in the strap box to see what I have that fits and voila. Vintage small kelton diver. Lume is working as well which is a nice added bonus.

Welcome I also just found this and have been too scared to really jump in yet.
This is definitely not gold and was cheap as chips. It's for a different watch, but I have put it next to a yellow gold Omega for comparison, mine however has been "Ruined' unlike yours. If you think that you can make it work then I will try and find out where I got it.

Also is" Vegan leather" an option for your allergy?

Lovely watch man.

eBay has loads. NATO Strap Gold brings up like 1000 items biggrin

https://erikasoriginals.com/options/buckle-options... Does lovely NATO style straps and bronze buckles.

If you prefer the look of leather I wonder if you could get one made with maybe a canvas or rubber liner against your skin? Maybe drop steveo a line https://www.steveostraps.com/

A bit left field a black tropic might look cool on that? https://www.tropicstrap.com/straps/

Very cool watch. I'm not a great fan of a NATO strap... You can also buy straps made out of something called "Vegan Leather" (filthy habit, leaves more for us real men etc. etc.) which may be worth a google as I think a plain black, thin "leather" strap would suit better.

I took my Breitling chronomat in to Berry’s in Leeds yesterday as I’m giving the watch to my son for his 18th birthday present and it has never had a service in 15 years.
Whilst the nice fellow doing the forms took his time I got to looking at the new Breitlings.
As you do.

Now I’ve been desperate for a new Rolex Sub after selling 2 of them previously but the BS of having to be a customer who has previously bought from that shop and let’s not forget that’s all they are is a shop pissed me off.
I have a Air King and the shop where I bought that from will not add me to their waiting list unless I go in personally and that’s ridiculous as I live in North Yorkshire and they are Covent Garden.

Anyway the second watch I saw was this-

https://www.berrysjewellers.co.uk/watches-c10/brei...

So now I’m the proud owner. Berry’s did a fantastic deal for me and the manager even ran down to one of their other branches to get extra links as I knew the lockdown was coming and the strap was a bit tight.
I’m loving the Breitling and after looking at the Air King I’m going to sell it. I feel no love for it at all.

As a fellow yellow watch wearer I really like that! Nice to have a bit of colour in the collection.

Oh and biggrin

Thanks I like that.
Yellow and orange are my 2 favourite colours. Much to my wife's amusement. As a person I standout anyway- 6 feet 2 tall and 20 stone prop forward so it's no use trying to shrink into the background so I say embrace a bit of colour!
