Chris ward emailed me.about their new cosc certified bronze today... £900 but I do really like it...

£950, no? With the £100 off checkout offer bringing it down to £850, if my maths is correct hehe

There are two things preventing me from taking an interest, a new kitchen being fitted in a couple of months or so and 'that' branding on the dial. One of the better looking bronze divers though and I do like CW's Light-catcher cases.

I'm with you on the logo. It makes it a no from me. They really need to be listening to their market.
Nobody likes it......apart from them!

Thanks for the photos. That looks lovely. I’m familiar with the quality of Stowa, here’s mine

Then you really need that bronze Flieger to keep it company. smile
The itch for a bronze Flieger has returned, I have a question about your Stowa purchase though. The website states €1290, when I add to cart and choose GB as the shipping destination, this changes to €1084.03 (without VAT) + €24 shipping. I get right to the end of the process where I add payment details but I still don't see the tax added. Did you pay the tax when it arrived? Or was your buying process different to what I've described?

I bought mine when we were still in the EU, so just paid the site amount.

As far as I know now (from robbiekhan's recent Stowa purchase), you pay the reduced amount on the site and the British VAT on arrival via the courier company.

Hope that helps. smile

Thank you, it does. I found robbiekhan’s post on the Incoming thread, looks identical to what I see in the Stowa site.

I wonder, if I wait long enough with the Flieger in my basket, will they send me a €50 off voucher…

Email them with an enquiry about the watch, just make one up if you don't have a specific question eg asking them to confirm waiting time, how to pay, question movement accuracy or whatever. They may very well include a discount code within their reply, they did with me when I made an enquiry a couple of months back.

Thank you, that’s an excellent idea!

Might be a little biased but... Stowa. Astonishing watches for relatively very little money. I will add a Bronze marine to my collection but I do not want the one already linked earlier in the thread as I want hand wind only.

Stowa's bronze also won't ever get that manky green patina growing and will remain a cool looking bronze finish all the time.

Is it wrong that I'm thinking of how many strap options would work with that? lick
A lot! Although keep in mind you need to get straps that taper down 2mm to the buckle. For me the Hirsch Pure natural rubber was the only options. Watch Obsession have a new slew of natural rubber straps coming soon though so keep an eye there.

To the question about tax above, you will not pay any tax/VAT at checkout with Stowa, they remove the 19% German tax when you pay. YOu will be billed the VAT amount by FedEx instead on top of their customs fee which is something like £24. I did the maths and it was discussed in the watch thread when I bought this. The import fee is very small really.

Tudor have released a bronze BB 58 Bronze
https://www.tudorwatch.com/en/watches/black-bay-fi...

According to Bark & Jack it's only available via boutiques and not AD's.

Personally I think it looks fantastic with the fabric strap.

I love this too and am thinking of selling my Christopher Ward Trident Bronze GMT and getting the Tudor.

Trouble is, need to go to a boutique to try one on!

You really need to try the Tudor on, I know it's different to the old bronze but there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to how comfortable a Tudor is on the wrist-I found the old BBB an incredibly uncomfortable brute and that's from someone who wore a 126660 Deep Blue.

I'm still yet to buy a bronze Stowa but I'm getting closer! I went onto their website today to see if prices had changes and discovered this:

I had been planning on getting this:

I'm torn. Also looking at robbiekhan's images is making me want one with logo but also with date if I go for the centre seconds where I was going to no logo, no date.

I like to have the date on my watches, the small seconds rules that out so maybe that answers my question. Any thoughts?

Don't like the date or subdial. I think I'd have one with a logo without anything else. Oh and hand wound for that vintage feel and another mm off the thickness smile.
Looks amazing either way!
