Old Jaeger LeCoutre - Can Anyone Tell Me About It?
Discussion
Hi, below are pictures of my Grandfather's JLC. I have no idea on age, model or value but I was hoping those with knowledge of these things can tell me a bit about it.
I know JLC are a top end manufacturer but my knowledge of old.models is non-existent.
Neither me or my dad are sure whether we like it or not but I suplose it will look good with shirt and jacket.

That's a nice memento of your grandfather.
It's a late 50s - 60s JLC with a K881 movement. A very good quality watch. Have a look at this link:

You might find it a bit small on first wearing, but I guarantee if you wear it constantly for two weeks, you will find all modern watches to be annoyingly cumbersome and oversized afterwards.

Tube of polywatch for the crystal, new strap of your choice (black would look better imho) and it will look nice..
Have the case very very lightly polished (as I believe it is plated) to bring it back to a shine, and a service if required.
You can order a JLC buckle for your new strap for not much money (stainless ones used to be under £20 last time I bought one, not sure about gold)
Wear in good health
