Gold ROLEX, legs spread wide and sports badged steering wheel always rate highly but missing the Porsche badge and didn't refer to it as a "piece" or mention exact model number or "AD". Sadly that only rates a 6/10 on the ROLEXometer.Sim89 said:
Recently procured a Squale 1521 - black dial, polished on a milanese bracelet. I had been looking for a diver for my collection for a while (I mostly have tool, field or dress watches) and obviously considered SKX, Combat Subs and a couple of Tissot models, but for me at least, the Squale was my favourite. It's a nice size at 41.5mm, although it wears more like a 41 - ideal for my wrist at 16.5cm. It's a little thicker than what I would usually wear at 13mm - but being a diver, not so bad!
I'm looking to buy a Zuludiver rubber strap, maybe in orange as an addition.
Just a follow up - now with a Zuludiver Italian rubber strap. I went for black in the end, will also work with a few other watches. Bit nerve-wracking cutting it to length, but a bit of thought and patience to get the length equal and the fitment correct and it fits perfectly.I'm looking to buy a Zuludiver rubber strap, maybe in orange as an addition.

I really like that and have been tempted a few times.... despite my 'one watch' philosophy. Which I've obviously broken.Did it come on the Milanese (mesh) strap?
They're quite good value really, and not flashy if you stick with 42mm/3 hands. The finishing is really good, particularly the dial elements.
I bought a Hirsch PURE natural rubber strap from a watch strap shop online (Germany based). They seemed to be the only place that had limited stock of this strap in 18mm with green colour, nobody else on the internet had this combo... I assumed I was ordering the small size which is standard and perfect for my wrist size but it was actually the L size so a little too big I found when it arrived for watches on my wrist that have a lug to lug length larger than 44mm.
Intending to sell it I figured I'd try it on the Hamilton Pilot and the shorter lug to lug meant it wore absolutely just right so now I have a new fav strap for this watch lol. The slight curve on the top surface at the lugs, the thickness and the colour just make the otherwise 36mm watch case looka little more sizeable and the colour suits the British Military aesthetic.
That dial texture in the sun is just

That Doxa is nice, so many divers out there I like which are like that but as I just want watches without date windows, my options have always been limited lol. I've tried to get on with date windows with previous watches but always felt them not needed for me and an extra task when setting a watch not worn for a few days

Obviously there's the other option, which I also thoroughly endorse for just about any use.
In my experience, nothing wears like a Doxa Sub. They're delightful.

Never owned a Doxa let alone seen one in person! Maybe one day I guess. The one slinked look cool but the dial styling isn't to my liking sadly!Obviously there's the other option, which I also thoroughly endorse for just about any use.

That Hamilton is nice, different. Maybe a rubber tyre tread strap to go with the tarmac?
I considered this as a rotation option but any such patterned rubber strap seems to be silicone and I only really like natural rubber compound straps for their comfort, dust proof and longevity.Mezzanine said:
This is such a good looking thing.
I hope for my wallets sake they never do an automatic version!
What's wrong with the hand wind I hope for my wallets sake they never do an automatic version!
Pretty sure though the case itself is too thin to house an automatic movement!
The ETA 2801 is such a satisfying movement to hand wind though, the click, the thunk of the crown as you pull it out...
