What would you buy for £2k
Discussion
You would get a used Omega Speedmaster for that sort of money. IMO they look better on a leather or fabric strap (Nato or Nylon) than the bracelet ... I just feel like it doesn't suit the watch.
They are quite understated and are comfortable. Many of the divers watches are larger in diameter and depth ... my Sea Dweller (116600) is really heavy when compared to my Speedmaster ... the profile is also pretty low so hides well under shirts etc.

Personally I'd probably look at Farer if I was spending that much, their new carnegie keeps catching my eye. But then I already have a couple of Sinns, that'd be my next choice
Nothing wrong with Tag, there's nothing wrong with anything if you like it and it's worth it to you. I quite liked their limited edition carrera until I saw the price!

Edit - Derek, hope you are well, still got the 360?
I'm not too bad thanks. Still stuck in the UK, still got the 360 but never got the 1.4m AED I was owed by the previous employer sadly so most other plans got put on hold.
Would still love to return to the UAE one day, but from what I hear the days of Western packages like I had previously are now long gone.

You and me both. I'm still owed 1.5m AED from a big job we did in the UAE. Don't like paying up do they?Still stuck in the UK, still got the 360 but never got the 1.4m AED I was owed by the previous employer sadly so most other plans got put on hold.

I've got more court actions to launch but haven't been able to get there since Nov 19. Given I've now been owed the money for 6 years I suppose a few more months won't make a difference!

Things are stuck in between here it seems, housing market is nuts again (I've just had to source a new villa, utter nightmare, prices shifting up daily) but cashflow remains an issue at ground level.
New wave of people moving here to take advantage of the remote working visas, all cash rich, plus the rich getting richer.
I won't take the thread any further off track, sorry OP, good luck with the purchase, lots to choose from at that level
Longines hydroconquest is a fantastic looking watch. I wear a blue 39mm on occasion as my daily. For actual timekeeping and understated looks, I see it as one of my best buys.
I also own a Tag formula 1. Looks great, the bracelet feels cheap, the price dropped like a stone after purchase.
Both watches are less than 1k apiece. Buy one and maybe add a dress watch like a Bell & Ross officer and you still have change for 2K

Not there now.
I got one in the end, and sent it back. Was engraved 139 (presumably that was the issue number)
Typically I went shopping and didn’t see anything I liked at that price point. An entry level Breitling at £3.5k caught my eye. Was very stylish, the perfect size, and not in-your-face flash. Loved it.
Will save some more and entertain some 0% finance. Assistant said they’d throw in a £270 tan leather strap too, gratis.
Thanks for all your suggestions. Most helpful.

If you can get one, I’d highly recommend it.
