I’ve had this F1 Kirium since 2005. It also came with the rubber strap, I usually swap them over during the summer but it looks much better with the metal bracelet. It hasn’t missed a beat, keeps almost perfect time and has only needed two batteries in that time.
I also have a Breitling Emergency, a friend bought it as a gift a number of years back. It’s lying in a drawer somewhere. Enough said.
Another Kirium F1 owner here, bought approx 20 years ago. Worn daily, mercilessly abused and not a single issue other than the occasional replacement battery. I love the way the stopwatch, alarm, dual time and other such functions can be displayed or hidden as preferred. (Today is the first time it’s been in the case since the day I bought it!).I also have a Breitling Emergency, a friend bought it as a gift a number of years back. It’s lying in a drawer somewhere. This thread inspired me to dig out my 2 Tag's from the back of the cupboard. Not worn them for maybe 5 or 6 years but put new batteries in and away they went. Bought them new late 80's /early 90's when the brand had a perceived better profile.
First thing I noticed was how small they look now. We seem to have grown used to much bigger watches now just like present day cars.

I wanted one but couldn’t find one at reasonable money, so I had to settle for a Series2 F1 instead. The original strap looks in great condition too.

Nice to know these are are quite rare and possibly sought after. Unfortunately the original strap bit the dust many years ago( still have it somewhere) but I managed to get a genuine replacement and haven't worn it much. I would like to get the white numbers on the bezel re-done at some point. Any ideas how to do it without ruining it?
No idea about the bezel. I need to get the same done to mine and my Wife’s F1, (see page one of this thread).I’ve had a look at replacements, but they were around £70-£80 + fitting.
If you happen to find a better value option then I’d love to hear about it.

Never really knew they did all those different colours, at the time I got mine all they had was the black and red ones.
Don't want to derail the thread and great pics being posted but....does anyone have suggestions where I might source a decent aftermarket deployment clasp for my Carrera Classic? The OEM Tag items are ridiculously over-priced and the same applies to the used ones on fleabag. I don't mind paying a slight premium for a good quality product but nothing too crazy.
....also need to find a black leather strap, a Hirsch will probably do the job though with a skinny 6 and a bit inch wrist, needs to be on the shorter side.

Have you considered an entirely different replacement strap?....also need to find a black leather strap, a Hirsch will probably do the job though with a skinny 6 and a bit inch wrist, needs to be on the shorter side.
The only other alternative I can think of is trying to find a model with the same strap as yours being sold on eBay for “spares or repairs”, swap the deployment clasp over and then sell the watch on, again for “spares or repair”.

I picked up a genuine clasp pretty cheap on Chrono 24 a while back. It was just a matter of searching on a regular basis until the right one came up. A new one from a dealer was probably more than the watch was worth.....also need to find a black leather strap, a Hirsch will probably do the job though with a skinny 6 and a bit inch wrist, needs to be on the shorter side.
eBay.com is another option.
I have to admit to being a bit of a Tag fancier myself.
Had a few over the years and this was my watch box from about 10 years ago.
Only have the red faced s/el and Kirium F1 from this set.
I still like the Super Professional and loved the Spirotechnique (which got stolen in the mail when I sold it).
I also have a blue Heuer marked Monaco re-release with calibre 11 movement.
Keep looking at the new orange Formula One quartz too.

Thanks. In no particular order a Calibre 11 Monaco (obvs) and the Jag is a Mk2. Thought the car and the watch were appropriate for a trip down to the Le Mans Classic 3 years ago. I’ve still got both! Gassing Station | Watches | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
