Jeez

it would be like having a brick attached to your arm

I remember nixies when they were current tech and the instruments that used them weren't exactly light.

HV supply, and the discharge tubes themselves, probably only run for 10 minutes !

I have an original.

It's like strapping a wardrobe to your wrist. But as conversation pieces go, it's unmatched.

Looks nice, but the thing that really turns me off about these Kickstarters are the "early bird specials" that have limited spaces, so BAM, unless you get in immediately you have to pay more. I don't view it as a sale as the product doesn't even exist yet, and you are taking a risk backing it.

Either put up reasonably priced "rewards" for everyone or accept some people will look at that and just go - nope.

I don't have an issue with the Kickstarter price being "lower" than the retail, but 20 people got the Pro watch £50 cheaper than everyone else for the simple fact they were faster.

As a novelty, I like it and it's priced well. That promo intro video is total sloblocks though!

I think if it was made into a desk clock it would be really cool but I can't imagine wearing it more than once or twice as an actual watch.

I love the look of Nixie tubes and have had it as my watch face on my Fitbit Versa 2 for 18 months now. I tried various other faces and kept coming back to the Nixie.

That looks too big to make sense as a watch, I like the concept though.

It's only just occurred to me that Voldemort's nixie watch says the time is 33.

I grabbed a stock photo.

But there are only two tubes!

As you roll your wrist (no smirking at the back) the display fires up at the angle you have set. It shows the hours first, then the minutes and then the seconds. When you roll your wrist back the display cancels.

ok, thanks.

Presumably there are many occasions when you don't know if you're seeing hours or minutes?

No, none. The display is unlit until you roll your wrist to the display angle, then, as said, it displays hours, then minutes, then seconds. I cba to find them for you but I'm sure there'll be videos on line if you want to search.
