In part due to the lack of Patek 5127s in the UK with recent service history, but also uncertainty about the durability of gold for what will be a regularly used watch, I have bought a JLC.

It is fresh from JLC service centre, with new strap, dial, crown and some other bits.

This watch is brilliant. It looks great and is fantastically accurate...when it isn't magnetised.

However, in everyday use I have never known a watch become magentised so easily. When it is not magnetic, it runs at a faction of a second fast per day. When it is magnetised, it runs about -5.

I assume it is because it is a skinny watch with not a lot of case.

Being a bit autistic, I am not sure I am happy with it.
