Tried this again yesterday. It's back on the list!
I have been really tempted by that too.... what did you think of it on the wrist?

There have been a few reliability issues reported on that movement - have you read that?

It was excellent on the wrist. The finishing on the S model with the alternating brushed and polished segments makes it wear much better than the satin or matte of the previous models.

Read about some reliability issues. Wouldn't buy grey market for this reason but I absolutely trust the Harrods boutique to look after any warranty issues.

The silver dial was excellent and a purer expression of the design language, but the black would be my choice.

Thanks....

It's such a unique watch. Very tempted.

Thats true. I do wonder how well it would stand up to daily use. I'm sure people do use them normally, but I think I'd end up babying it a bit.

On the subject of exhibition backs: am I the only one who is unmoved by them?

I was looking at a Patek a while back and the salesman in hushed tones opened a cover on the rear and in hushed tones announced "and...exhibition..." at which point he lost me
You’re probably not the only one, but I’d say you were in a small minority. Most people paying 4-5 figures for a watch with a highly decorated movement like to see it in action if they can. And most of the time it’s invisible anyway.

Also in my "ooh, that's rather tempting" list are these two skeleton dials ... not normally a fan, but these two:

Oris Pro Pilot X Calibre 115:

and the Zenith Defy Classic Ceramic Skeleton:

That fails the test of 'being able to see the time at a glance' for me.

It’s a reasonable point but a) I suspect you would be able to in real life as the depth of the dial will be obvious and it’s just that picture giving that impression; b) there are lots of other colour ways available - the one in the picture is the all black (as it’s my preferred)

I do like this one. Nearly 7,000 EUR but I could get it tax free, but at 44mm that might be a bit, well, massive, for me.

Yes definitely on the large side! Plenty on Chrono24 around the £4.5k mark.

I was with a guy a last week and loved his Speedy on a saddle leather rough strap.
Much want.

Taken out of the context of this board, that sounds quite dodgy.

I suppose I just don't think it would have been 'dodgy' if it was:

I love this watch!
I spoke with my brother about it as he has a great and varied collection and it is a watch that he admires muchly.
The map has elevations, to a scale apparently?
One day?
