Here we go, the new £400,000 45mm Speedmaster.

That is absolutely stunning!

but at over £400k, there's so many other watches that I'd go for before that.

Still, bloody gorgeous thing yes

All my billionaire chums will just think I'm wearing a bloody standard speedy though - even my helicopter pilots don't stoop that low.

I'm too rich to have to explain to people how rich I am, it's degrading.

Just leaving this here…
There’s an additional 10% off the sale price with the site wide code at the moment too.

That's pretty nice. Not nuts expensive either. I saw that if you order quickly you get a Breitling bauble smile

I really like that, I know DLC watches get a bad rep on the forums but my mate has a rare IWC Top Gun (the proper one that was given out to pilots) and the DLC parts of it have worn beautifully-it's a stunning patina compared to stainless swirlies and scratches.

The Breitling cropped up while I was searching for a simple, uncluttered field/pilots-style automatic watch with Arabic numerals as a Christmas gift. It's a very nice design but I'm humming and hawing about whether it's good value compared with watches based on a similar (albeit lower grade or detuned/ruggedized version) movement (the ETA-2824-2), like the Laco Munster (£865) and the Hamilton Khaki (£500).

While I mull over the question of whether COSC certification, a thinner case, and the Breitling brand are worth £1,500-2,000, I've ordered a Seiko SRPG35 (see the Incoming... thread).

Early birthday/Christmas pressy from BiL in Estonia - I am not a "watch" person but really liked this when I first saw it! It is see through front and back and has the winder on the "wrong" side - which I don't understand but really like! Hope you do, too...

But it's OK to be a bit of a mental. And I'm allowed to say that.
