The Under £200ish Watch and occasional Opera Thread! Vol2
Discussion
With metal bracelets they don't always come out as easily as a strap.
I find you have to hold the bracelet and kind of put a gentle pulling motion away from the watch head so when one end of the spring bar releases, it stays released. You then have to release the opposite end of the bar and the bracelet comes away from the watch head. I find if you don't do this, you release one end of the spring bar, then as you try and do the other end, the first end pops back in and re-engages!

Indeed. I do have my eye on another possible Alpina purchase, but haven't jumped in yet as thought buying 3 in a month might be a bit OTT.
Saying that though, at a total of £600 for the lot I'm still very tempted. Watch this space..
Seller dropped the price by £50 so had another "couldn't say no" moment. Saying that though, at a total of £600 for the lot I'm still very tempted. Watch this space..

Something a bit different for me incoming, I had one as a kid and when I received an email showing it this morning I just had to have it. Everything about this screamed at me to buy, even showed the wife and she said “well get it if you want it” which means it gets her seal of approval too
I mean, who doesn’t love a Snoopy?
Ta da! I love it. I mean, who doesn’t love a Snoopy?

This has arrived, but I don’t much like the strap, I want to swap it onto a rubber/silicone one, but for the life of me, can’t release the spring bars, is there some knack to it?Barchettaman said:
The €2.97 strap from AliExpress works well on my Airman. It came in just over thread budget at £275 but is hopefully in keeping with the spirit of the thread. These are over €700 new.
The minor scratches on the bezel are prominent in this photo but pretty much invisible in normal light.
Well, I reckon that's me covered for every occasion now. Started the year with a new job and a plan to spend a decent sum from my previous annual bonus on a nice watch. After spending time in various jewelers and the Watchfinder outlet at Bicester I just couldn't bring myself to hand over the cash.
Had set a budget of £2-3k, but ended up picking up these 3 for £600 instead. What can I say, I love a bargain.
If you want a quality watch swiss watch and aren't offended by quartz I can highly recommend.
