Haven't sized it yet. Really struggling to get the pins out.

I'll end up wearing it more than the Tag.

It is amusing and heartening that the rip off replica homage mash ups etc are now generally well received. Not so long ago replicas were widely derided (and I was one of the detractors too). I like cheap watches from China, the stuff that's actually high quality punches well above the price imo, but I still prefer an original design though rather than a copy of something. I've got a Merkur incoming, but couldn't do a Pepsi/RootBeer/Speedy homage though.
I think the reason is the Moonswatch.... when the group starts creating it's own replica/homage versions all bets are off and others homages to the same watch become far more acceptable. When you compare this Chinese homage to a Moonswatch you'd be mad to spend £200 on the plastic fantastic version regardless of what brand is on the face!
Just had a quick nose about and you can buy the case and bracelet for about £45 to put the dial and movement in…might do it if (when) the plastic case gives up on my moonswitch

Just bought a cheap Hanowa to use while my old Seamaster is away being serviced. It has a plain black leather strap, but I am thinking about putting a NATO on it. Good idea?
Why not? NATOs are nice things to wear.

If you need a brand new 22mm brown Hanowa strap for it let me know and I’ll stick one in the post. Bought in error. It’s a Flieger style strap with the double rivets by the lugs.

Having said that, if you want a random nato strap let me know, I’ve got millions of the things.

That looks very good, especially when you consider how much you paid!!!

Do you find a variation in the hole spacings on 22mm NATO straps? I've yet to find one that fits "just right" as it's either too tight or too loose. Or it's just my weird wrist.

Pagani Fauxplorer with the Seiko GMT has arrived from Ali Express (7 days from ordering), and it's another winner. Great overall finish, display caseback, well aligned cyclops, milled clasp, applied indices, screw rather than split pins in the links... Very pleased with it, and personally prefer this style to the Steeldive sub gmt.

In all honestly no. If you can’t get a decent fit try wearing the strap the ‘other way’. Check this video from 3’30”. Warning, contains some swearing.

I’ve got one in black, and it’s great. Currently runs at -4 a day after I regulated it.

How do you regulate them? Is something I could do or is it a specialist job?
Yeah, I'd like to know the answer to that too. I could probably google it as well, I guess...

On most movements there is a little lever which you can move which changes the effective length of the hairspring. Free spring balances have screws around the balance wheel and screwing them in or unscrewing them effects inertia.

You need a timegrapher ideally, I think some people do it with their phones but it must take quite a bit of trial and error.

Yes it's worth doing if you have some brave trousers and are happy to open a watch. I'm using it as an easy introduction to watch repair.

A watch that's out be a fair amount but consistently out is a good candidate it's the mechanisms that are a bit random day-to-day that are not worth doing.

I do like the look of that but I'm split on GMT models - love them one week then think there is no point the next. I think it's the 24hour bezel that does it - wish it was just a GMT hand that rotated at the same speed rather than once per day.

Brilliant. The Toyota Hilux of the watch world. I do love a st kicker Casio.

Mine get absolutely battered, and have been so for 20 years or so!

I used to buy all sorts of stty watches when I was bored in airports going to and from work

Not sure what you mean (genuinely) - the GMT hand is tracking consistently 5hrs behind local time. The Bezel is fixed. The overall fit and finish is very, very good. I might need to get on with black dial, I like it so much.

For the first time in a while I would say that this would bein my top 5 if keeper if i had to move the rest of my 'collection' on. I'd be keeping

-This (as my daily);
-Pagani PRX chrono (for cocktail nights);
-Lip Mach 2000 (for novelty / parties, over my Bulova Parking Meter which I like but don't love);
-Panerai Luminor 39mm (because bought in 1999 as a wedding present to myself);
-Certina ph200 or Steeldive Turtle (for action and adventure, selection depending on my mood at the time.

And to avoid the metal detector I'd smuggle my resin Casio Royale in somewhere too. Because nothing actually trumps a Royale.

So then, threadists... Let's have your top five from your current stash, at least 3 within thread limit, but allowing for one slightly over, and maybe one proper budget buster?

Blimey redrabbit, talk about kicking a man when he's down! After a break-in I've gone from 21 to one, so my list of 'keepers from the current collection' is an easy one to answer. laugh
