Whos it been reported to? Stolen where and how?

Reported to police and insurance. A man conned my wife as she was selling it. He left without paying, running off into a waiting getaway car. Glad she wasn’t hurt.

They will get back to us within 5 working days with a response. They issued a crime number over the phone.

Awful crime, in the bournemouth area we've had old boys being diverted and then Rolexes stolen by a load of Eastern Europeans.

I've been burgled and my omega taken, it was gut wrenching.

Sadly these watches end up on some drug lords wrist as payment.

I would imagine the police will expose a house with about 10 from the days thefts and say they cracked the ring.

Just got to have your wits about you with this sort of thing unfortunately and learn from the lesson.

Selling and being conned for desirable items that can appear affordable to man on the street if they really want to is where a lot of us get stung.

Insurance should pay you the value which saves making the sale

Insurance has a clause specifically to not pay out in deception fraud. Still within the 5 day KPI period for a response from the police. That’s not to do anything, just provide a response.

Does it count as deception fraud if it was a run-off during a sale? I mean, you could run out of a shop with a trolley full of food and "deceive" them that you were going to pay. I can see that it might be different if it was a scam and she willingly posted it to someone. Either way, I hope she's alright.

If its a theft and reported as such then insurance companies will probably feel a little better about not being conned themselves.

Could be a scam itself for insurers.

I don't think that's what he is saying at all. I think he's stating a way to deal with the insurance company if they try and cheat you.
