Household policy excluded Deception Fraud. Check yours. Apparently a standard clause.

Correct e mail came through, uploaded a total of 4 videos showing the scrote. It’s a case of wait and see, not hopeful.
Good news

There's a small chance they will identify him - but I suspect the watch will be long gone I'm afraid frown

This is straight forward theft? Must be worth arguing the toss?

Tried that, I said he bought it so no deception but then stole the money. Cash theft limited to £250 and you lose your no claims bonus if the claim is successful. There is also another clause excluding claims if you let the thief into your house.

Stitched up really

They've got it sewn up all ways.

Since the police just give a crime number over the phone with no interest whatsoever in the crime I think the take away lesson from your experience is to just tell the police whatever story is going to work out best for your subsequent insurance claim.

Really sorry to hear this.
The insurance company may have already done this but if not https://www.thewatchregister.com/ most respectable traders/pawn brookers use this to check a watch when they buy, same for auction houses. So it may not be straight away but may get flagged up in the future.

Very sorry to hear about this vile theft, the main thing is you were unharmed.

Unfortunately unless you play the R card this theft won't even register, the Police are far too busy apologising and criminalising motorists for wonky number plates.

We explained we also had good quality cctv and still images of the thief.

The scumbag looks like he did enough not to be recognised. Cap, glasses, mask. If he's European likelihood is he may not be on the system anywhere.

Hope you get all the help you need and this fker gets deleted from society.
