REDUCED

Santos de Cartier Medium WSSA0029

Purchased from Watches of Switzerland January 2023. International Cartier 5 year warranty valid until 2028.
Beautiful classic wristwatch, easy to wear and enjoy. Photographs do not do justice to these watches, the blued hands especially are difficult to capture.
It's been worn and enjoyed so has a few scuffs, nothing too deep or obvious - as can be seen in photos.

C24 advertised at £5,250 4,990; PH price £5,000 4,750.

Thinking of selling my Longines grand vitesse chrono. It has the original box although it’s somewhat tatty. Just not getting much wear due to new arrivals. Standard micro scratching on clasp but otherwise pretty mint condition. Looks like the cheapest on chrono24 is £850. Will offer on here at £750 posted. Happy to sent detailed pics if anyone is interested.

Does that use a column wheel modified 7750 movement?
Not sure about column wheel, it’s a 7750 though
Better pic…

Selling my Seiko Prospex Turtle Save the Ocean SRPC91K1. Discontinued model that I don't wear anymore.

Seem to have lost the original rubber strap but can have a search for it in my drawers in the garage if someone is desperate for it. It's on a MilTat Oyster bracelet currently that cost around £80. Some light scratches on the bracelet but the actual case is unmarked.

Original box and user guide included.

£300

Where would you guys recommend going to sell some higher end stuff? I'll need somewhere honest as I know two thirds of FA about watches.
TIA.
Tell us what you've got & we'll try and reccomend somewhere. If you post pictures we may be able to help with authenticity and ballpark value.
Okay my apologies I totally neglected this post. I know nothing about watches.
I've got 5, the first two have been sent off for clean up and verification to Switzerland (very reasonable costs I thought) and the others will follow.
I've been advised to lodge them all with a single shop in the West End who will take a certain commission, which again, seems reasonable.
Maybe 60K for all of them which I will be very happy with.

OK, I guess it's a secret then.
For that kind of bundled value (& with no clue as to what you've actually got) I would recommend that you also take them to show to Dominic Hackett of Hackett watches (or ring him and ask if he's interested). He's in Hatten Garden somewhere. Dom used to be a poster here and has a reputation for being great to deal with and he is very fair.

I've only ever spoken to the guy on the phone, but he came across as being a very nice guy. I asked him by email if he could better a deal I'd found elsewhere and he rang me straight back for 20 min chat and to talk me into spending my money with the other dealer. The point of this story is that if Dom thinks you'll do better elesewhere, my experience is he'll tell you.

If you speak to him, tell him you were pointed his way from thge PH watch forum.

Thank you guys, I've given the watches to my sister who is dealing with them but I'll pass this info onto to her.

The advice we've had so far came from a guy at Jeager I think, she took a couple into their London office. He recommended the seller as someone reliable and if the rough figures he was quoting are right it seems like a really good deal. The shop just sells them with a commission, rather than a dealer who has to make a bigger cut.

Anyway, as I say I'm not a watch person. A couple are Jeagers (or maybe one is), one is a Rolex, that's all I remember. The Rolex is an unusual one although I don't think that makes it any more valuable, I've been told it would be something a collector would likely be interested in but not the average buyer. I'm sorry, I can't remember what it's called! A Prince I think, but that's not the main name.

No pics sorry, I didn't take any before I gave them to her but I have a bit more info.
One has already gone to Switzerland and it isn't the Jeager, it was - and the spelling is a guess - a Cheaupard?

So, she's taken some more in today, the Jeager among them.
One is a floating diamonds and another is a reverso. I remember that one, it's a ladies watch that flips over to look like a bracelet, it's a really lovely looking thing.
Spoke to my sis today but I was working and didn't take it in properly, I do remember that to send the Rolex and do whatever they do was £730. I think the others were under that figure.

There was actually a sixth one, a ladies Cartier which I gave to one of the guys who works for me to give to his wife, no details on that, I didn't really look at it.

Sorry this is all so sketchy!

I'll try to get some pics when everything comes back, unless sis takes them straight to wherever she's placing them.
I don't have time to do any of this myself so I said to her that we could go halves if she does all the leg work, I will actually just let her keep all of whatever it comes to though, she's had a bit of a rough time lately and it might help. Although I'm sure she will shout at me!

I suppose I might consider keeping the Rolex. It's a man's watch so maybe hang onto it for forms sake. But I have never worn a watch in my life and I'm not sure it would ever come out of the drawer.

I've no idea why you'd think that. But if you're happy to sell £60K ish worth of stuff (where you've no idea of it's true value) to the first person to offer you money, then you're happy. Your stuff, your decision! smile

Hamilton Navy UTC Khaki Auto 42mm

https://www.hamiltonwatch.com/en-gb/h77505535-khak...

Bought this from the first owner of this forum back in February.

I’ve maybe worn it 5-6 times since buying it. I always reach for my Garmin watch nowadays as it does everything.

Seems a waste having this sitting doing nothing so it’s time for a new home.

How does £425 RMSD to your door sound?

Each watch has been taken to their main dealer as it were, and then sent back to Switzerland for an mot. So I presume that when they return my sister will have a pretty accurate valuation.
Then they'll be taken to the shop that the watch company have recommended and we'll get a firm quote for their price and commission rate before going ahead.
Although it's obviously not a science and I'm sure other options are available but we'll see how this pans out first.

Any Damasko owners looking to sell? Fancy a DC80 but interested in alternatives too.

I wish I had something of my dad's. Seems a shame to sell something like that.

Got my dad’s datejust 36. Not serviced in 35 years - I really should get it seen to.

It’s something I’d never sell. Not sure I’d even wear it.

We know nothing of their relationship, other keepsakes or anything else. Dial back the judgement.

Hi,

I have my Patek Philippe Calatrava 7234-G for sale here.

PH price: £27,999 + post.

18ct White Gold. The watch is completely unworn and still has some factory stickers on. It also has the original purchase receipt, from Mappin & Webb in London, in the box.

May also be interested in a PX for Rolex/ Tudor.

TIA
