Just arrived today; you'll all hate it. JDM The Citizen, washi paper dial, titanium, eco drive with non-hacking hour and perpetual calendar, accurate to ±5 seconds per year so my first HAQ. Lots of lovely little touches like the hands being polished on one side of the lume, brushed on the other, and the indices and eagle logo floating above the dial.
I certainly don’t hate it.I am very intrigued by these.
I apologise for maligning my fine colleagues in this thread.
Really pleased with it. Lovely finishing, beautifully light, very under-the-radar. The dial is nicely textured but not over the top, much like my SARX055. There's another blue washi one but it has white paper and a tinted disc over it; I think this is a bit more variegated for want of a better term.
Taking links out of the bracelet is a bit fiddly - they're secured with double-screw bars. Took three days from Japan. I was very mildly concerned that a lot of the Internet says there's no international warranty, but that no longer seems to be the case.

Wouldn’t say I hate it, but I am absolutely nonplussed by Japanese bracelet and case design.JAGS said:
That is really lovely Glashutte are very under-rated IMHO. I am glad that they haven't been discovered by the mainstream, because the prices are still sort-of reasonable and most models are readily available without having to buy Christmas gifts for your AD's kids.
There is a new PanoMatic Calendar model which includes an annual calendar function. I have my eye on either one of those, or a Senator Perpetual, for 2024...

I doubt you’re nonplussed.
Uninspired maybe?
Hmm I thought nonplussed made sense.Uninspired maybe?
But you’re right it doesn’t inspire me. There’s something missing for me and I can’t always put my finger on it but they seem to be lacking in style and inelegant compared to the best from Rolex, PP, VC, Audenars Piguet etc…

Bracelets I am with you, but Grand Seiko have Rolex beaten on cases IMO. I have always thought the Rolex case side profile is a bit slabby? But you’re right it doesn’t inspire me.
