The strap is a NATO - that’s how they fasten - that’s why I changed mine for the silicone

In NYC at the moment and managed to get an Arctic Ocean from 5th Ave. Interestingly the Oculus WTC store stocks the MoonSwatch but not the Fifty Fathoms.

Seems like I was lucky with timing, but they had all colours after having a delivery this morning. Two other people in the store bought Fifty Fathoms and one bought a MoonSwatch
Was in NYC last week too and came close to picking up an Antarctic Ocean from 5th Ave but I stopped myself from even going in because at that point self control would have been left at the door.

Was actually surprised to see them in the Swatch store Times Square and Blancpain store on 5th too, I'm not aware of any Omega boutiques stocking the Moonswatch?

Think some of the Omega boutiques had them in the case on display but not for sale. Blancpain ones seem to be at fewer Swatch stores though.

Didn’t get a chance to pop over to a swatch store today for another BP however I have barely had the Indian Ocean off my wrist since I swapped the strap so that’s maybe a good thing.

I will be back in the US in a few weeks time so may try my luck then.

I picked up an Antarctic and thought I might put a different rubber strap on it as others have. How do you get the original pins out? Am I correct in thinking they aren't spring bars?

You've got 2 choices.

Loopy

Flat

I go with flat personally. Less annoying with cuffs/sleeves and feels more secure as allows you to tighten the strap perfectly.

Ah… flat looks ok.

Why would anyone do it the other way… looks ridiculous.

Correct, they arent spring bars - the strap I bought came with a couple of tiny allen keys - theyre allen bolts - and very easy to undo / redo after swapping the new strap on.

The new Ocean of Storms release looks a lot less like a kids toy.

I could be in scratchchin

It does look appealing and I was initially tempted but £350 for what is essentially a novelty is hard to justify for me.

£350 gets you an awful lot of watch elsewhere. For example the 30th anniversary Frogman is currently only a tenner more and I’m pretty sure it will last far longer than the Swatch….

Ah damn it!! I've mostly been non-plussed by all of these (with the exception of the Mercury Moonswatch) but I really like that. I'm not a fan of Natos but thinking it could work really well on a lighter coloured leather strap.

It does look better in black than the other colours imo, saw someone on the tube recently wearing the Arctic Ocean (cream and red) and it didn't look great.

Ended up getting a rep of the Atlantic Ocean as a late present from christmas from a relative who went to Turkey for a break, these and the moon swatches were in lots of the tourist shops.

Haven't worn it out of the house but it looks decent quality considering it was around €30 so something to be wary of if buying from third parties and not direct from the shops.

Can see on the back that the casting marks and pins don't look the same as the genuine

Not sure of what chemicals they use for the lume but it's the brightest I've ever seen on a modern watch.

Doesn't it just... I really like that one.

Must...resist... need to rebuild savings after Christmas and a load of work that was required to both car and motorbike first!

That looks quite good in photos. The strap is horrible(as all NATOs are).

I'd like to see that in the flesh...

One small things that itches my tooth beyond reasonable doubt:

Why couldn't they give a depth of 100m/330ft. I know it is mathematically not accurate, but all watches do this. My Seamaster is 300m/1000ft, a pelagos 39 has 200m/660ft, etc....
And why 91m? Usually watches are usually measured in ATM, whereas 10 ATM ≈ 100 m. Is it really only tested, or rather stood up to a test of 91m and not 100m? Could it not cope with an other 8.66m for a full 100m water depth?? Possible, but I doubt...

Will this prevent me from getting one? No, I will definitely get one, preferably now in black rather than blue.

Yes, not such a Finding Nemo spin off, but 350 is a lot.

The depth measurement of 50 Fathoms is 91 metres. 1 Fathom is 1.82 metres.

This being a Swatch version of the Fifty Fathoms... get it?

Nice little detail I think smile
