Now I want one even more ....
biggrin

Glad to have been of service!

If it helps, I too want one, and the Ocean of Storms is just really nice.

The Ocean of Storms does look very nice but I suspect if I bought it it would probably just end up sitting in it's box unused like my Moonswatch earth edition does.

Give me a no date version of the Ocean of Storms and I'm in. Have really started appreciating having no date complications to worry about when picking up something to set and wear.

I’m almost certain they do a black Fifty Fathoms no date.

Might cost you a bit more though biggrin

Awesome.

I’ve had a little break from my Indian Ocean but wore it this week to a meeting with a prospective employer and it was a bit of a talking point as he well into his watches.

I picked an Ocean of Storms up quite randomly in Liverpool yesterday. I had been quite ambivalent about the other models, except maybe Atlantic, but this one by far the nicest and most conservative one. I have a few moonswatches that I managed to get through various airport trips at the time. Recently, no duty free Swatch store had any Blancpain articles (including Zurich), so I was quite surprised Liverpool had all 6 including Ocean of Storms, which wasn't on display and were only for sale at one per person per day.

I do think the price is a steep given the 'disposable' movement and especially for those who are new to the hobby and don't have other 'real' watches to enjoy, but I try not to take things so seriously and just enjoy it for the fun it is. I'm unlikely to own a real Fifty, but I'm also lucky enough to have other nice pieces to switch between.

I think the NATO strap on the Ocean of Storms looks pretty good, but the rubber straps that are now available for them look really in my opinion:

I was pleasantly surprised this was still running after beeinv un the drawer for 3 days. Looked it up an it has a power reserve of 90 hours!

I really like it, much more than anticipated and it gets lots of wrist time. Also I have grown to like the strap that comes with it.

Normally I like smaller watches on my petite wrist, but the watch wears quite nicely. I don‘t feel „overwatched“ at all.
A shorter single pass Nato or MN strap would reduce the slight bulk that comes from the oem strap.

For those that have one take a UV lamp to the back of the case for a little easter egg wink

Those are just photos I found on the internet, not my watch, but below is a link to one go the high quality strap options. Of you search google for 'Ocean of storms rubber strap' you will get lots of different options from about £20 (Ebay and Ali express) to the more expensive ones.

Looks great. I’m really tempted but I’m thinking of a lighter colour strap. Would they look any good on a tan/brown leather/fabric strap?

Got a cheap all black nato in the correct 22mm of amazon to put on the black FF. Not convinced… will probably cut off the secondary loop to get rid of some ballast. The oem strap is of quite good quality.

Fun little watch for casual weekend / beach duties. Was on the fence (still am to a degree, when a casio does it just as well for less). That said, it’s got character and more practical now on a rubber strap.
