Was recently made redundant and decided to use some of my pay out to get one of my grail watches.

1970, Speedy pro, classed as a transitional pre moon watch nerd. It's all original, not been serviced in years, but keeps great time. Really am rather chuffed with it.

Lovely - welcome to the club.

Giving the 2254 “Peter Blake” a wear this weekend. This is pretty much peak Omega from the Seamaster line imo. I think a reinvention of their classic models would sell like hotcakes.

Heading into London so the Rolex can stay at home.
Was a pain in the A to change the strap.
Is your bezel insert pearl sitting outside the centre of the triangle, towards the top, Cupes, or is it an angle/camera effect?
I think it is the angle.
I've ha faook and it looks in correct place.

Looking well! The brown/vintage aesthetic really works with the titanium case and bigger size, surprised it wasn't a bigger seller to be honest but maybe some folk didn't like the Bond tie-up!? That never seemed to harm the older, blue ones and I think this is a lot more special.

Not a big Omega fan but this is so much more interesting than what say Rolex is doing the moment, though I wouldn't kick a titanium Yachtmaster out of bed!

A couple of watch things this week.

I Bought a Breitling Endurance Pro in February. I Loved the yellow, but wasn’t sure if it’d be too bright. The shop threw in a black strap which arrived the other day.

I think it sets off the yellow elements in the watch very well.

From the pleased above, to the disappointed l.

I picked up this Bulova Lunar Pilot last week. I like the design, and the story behind it.

There’s an alignment issue that my OCD draws me to.

If you are referring to the hand alignment it’s possible to adjust the positions by pressing the top and bottom paddles if I remember correctly.
Mine went out of line as the battery aged.

Stunner.
I’m between two minds as to let mine age or to keep it nice and shiny with Polywatch and an old toothbrush.

Good to know, I’ll give it a try and report back.

Sadly it didn’t work. Checking the manual shows you how to reset and that hasn’t worked.

It looked fine in the shop, I like to think I’d. have noticed it. The first thing I noticed when I got it home. It’ll be a pain getting it sorted as the ship had to order it in.

I was already slightly disappointed (maybe an overstatement) The first watch they brought out was the Meteorite limited edition. I told them that wasn’t what I ordered but they insisted it was and at £599 I was more than happy as they go for £1000 I think.

I came back from having a coffee to think about it to be told they’d made a mistake . I wish I’d been rash and just bought the thing there and then. That’ll teach me not to be cautious. :-)

Other than the alignment it is a lovely watch and it really suits the rubber strap over the bracelet.

That’s a shame.
I think I found a solution online to my problem.
Pulling the crown and pushing the paddles I vaguely remember.

This one is a nice unmolested original watch. I much prefer the aged look to the bright, shiny ones.

I noticed that the top pusher was sticking out quite a bit, so I popped the movement out and screwed the pusher pin back in. Seeing as it's not been touched in years I gave the case and bracelet a clean in my ultrasonic cleaner which has really improved things.

The crystal had loads of light scratches and quite a few heavy ones, so I attacked it with a bit of MicroMesh and their plastic polish and it's come up a treat. You can still see the deeper scratches if you angle the watch and look in the light, but otherwise it's a huge improvement.

So now I have a nice clean watch with a hugely improved crystal, and I'm still in love with it! biggrin

Not really bothered by the BOND link.
Just like the watch ....
Changing the straps (not OEM OMEGA ones...) does mix it up some which is an inexpensive way to get a different feel.

I wore my late fathers Datejust to my own wedding the other day.

I now have a picture of it resting on my son when he was born and also a picture of it at my wedding (the photographer got me to do a posey photo with it which I will get in a few weeks).
