I was thinking of getting something a bit fun and cheap with a Tiffany blue face. The Rolex option is a bit out of the ballpark so I was looking into cheaper options.

It's not meant to be anything too serious, but would still like to have something of ok quality which i'm not completely burning money on.

I have the below options so far below, but grateful for any advice? smile

(1) Casio MTP-B145D-2A1VEF - £52
35mm case, Quartz movement and stainless steel. Cheap and cheerful although bracelet isn't great quality and not sure how easy it is to adjust the strap. Don't think one can go too wrong for this price!

(2) Citizen Automatic Tsuyosa - £240
40mm case, Automatic movement and meant to be fairly decent. Crown is in a bit of a strange position and clasp is pressed metal and also reportedly feels a bit cheap (not that we're talking big money anyway!)

(3) Tissot T-Classic PRX Mint - £268
40mm case, Quartz movement so a bit of a downgrade to option 2, yet more money. Reviews of the PRX seem to be that it's a pretty good quality watch.

(4) Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 - £512
40mm case, Automatic movement and a step up from option 3. Admittedly, £512 is starting to push the budget for what was meant to be a cheap 'on a whim' purchase.

Appreciate any thoughts on the above + any other suggestions smile

Saw this in the other thread, but I prefer a round face.

Pagani designs PD-1690 is their homage to a Tiffany OP.

I built this a while back for some fun, you could always go down the custom route to get exactly what you want?

The watch face is custom too?

I'm not especially artistic or inclined to start pulling watches apart and trying to put them back together again hehe

Excuse the ignorance, but what is the difference between this watch and the one I posted?

Obviously the bezel is a slightly different shape, bracelet is a little different and it appears to have sapphire glass. Anything else i'm missing aside from the Edifice branding on it?

Size, quality of finish, miles better bracelet, twice the water resistant, lume on hands and indices and as you said sapphire crystal.

£28 from AliExpress.

Sapphire crystal
Milled clasp
Seiko VK31 (smooth sweep quartz) movement.

Just ridiculously good for the money, tricky to photograph but I assure you it’s really nice.

Omologato do a couple. This one isn't round so not sure if it's to your taste.

It's definitely a tempting proposition!

Never used AliExpress though so it would be something to look into.

That actually looks really great, especially for £28. I am currently still waiting for an OP. Might be worth getting one of these as a stop gap while I'm waiting as it's probably still a few years off yet. Great summer looking watch.

I ended up going for the Tissot PRX. The Casio was tempting but saw people mention the bracelet was a hair ripper.

I haven't worn the Tissot for any period of time, but the bracelet feels a bit sharp on the edges. I may change out the strap for something different - maybe a bright blue rubber one off Aliexpress hehe

I have the tissot PRX in ice blue , larger size (40?)

It has quickly become my daily watch - gets a lot of compliments the waffle dial is great. I particularly like how the bracelet catches your eye, it’s very nice for the money and timekeeping is spot on.

That's the more expensive automatic movement and I did look / consider that. I slightly preferred the colour of the quartz and wasn't hugely bothered to pay an additional £200-300 for the automatic movement and worry about keeping it wound - I already have the 'premium' watch and this was meant to be something a bit more cheap and cheerful smile

For anyone interested, the Pagani referred to above is on Aliexpress for £25 (plus tax) today - I've got one on the way!

Might give them a try for a watch strap. Don't think one can go too wrong for a few £!
