Insurance Valuations
Discussion
I need to get insurance valuations for a number of watches and and some gold and diamond jewellery.
Looking on line these services seem to have gone up massively and there seems to be a lot who are looking at £90-100 per item and others who work on a total percentage of the worth, so you do not know the cost until the end and do not mention the % which seems to be a big variable.
Is there any recommended people to use especially around the Bristol area and what is a fair price?
Thanks in advance

Utter ball ache of a process.
I 100% begrudge the "%age of value" merchants. Total bullst.
We finally found somewhere not far from us (Bishops Stortford, so unfortunately nowhere near you) who did it for a flat fee.
Plenty of people wanting things posted to them - yup, OK. Insurance...how much is it worth?
We visited the place who did ours, then had to leave one piece overnight.
Goldsmiths do valuations, but I think it's a periodic service. Might be worth giving them a buzz if you don't get better recommendations.
