So I'm after another watch.

Choice of three at the moment. Slightly unsure which is best. It's all subjective, I appreciate.

Bremont Supermarine Chronograph in Black
Tudor Black Bay Chronograph in black
Brellum Pilot GMT LE3

I'm near Henley. So the Bremont appeals from that point. And can generally (always?) be picked up at a discount. Has the display caseback, and is a GMT. With the new releases today, Bremont appear to be changing direction; does this devalue the older ones (or make them more desirable?).

The Brellum has the display caseback, is a GMT, and is the cheapest, and most unusual. It is less waterproof, less Diver. Thanks to the delight of Brexit, slightly harder to get. Same movement as the Bremont.

The Tudor is the most common, sponsors Beckham (this is not a good thing...), isn't GMT, doesn't have a display caseback, but does have by far the best movement. The "poor man's rolex" doesn't bother me.

I do have a display caseback elsewhere, so that's less of an issue, but always nice.

Do I go on locale, rarity, or movement? I think it comes down to something that simple. Or are there anymore smaller brands I've overlooked.

Thanks!

I'm intrigued by Brellum, they look good and the reviews are mostly positive. I was very tempted by the Pilot Power Reserve but they are just too big for my skinny wrists, I wish they'd do a smaller thinner version but alas...

So I ended up going to Farer because they were sub 40mm and thinner, slightly cheaper too.

I wouldn't be put off by the 'unkown' aspect of Brellum.

All looking good.
The Tudor seems to be the best bet out of these three in terms of movement and quality feel.
But to decide you should get some *ahem* wristime and get a feel for these and how you like them on you.

To me the Brellum looks great. It would be ideal to see in the flesh, but as you say the reviews are generally favourable.

If a non diver chronograph is what you are looking for, I think my money would go on this!

the only downside for the Breitling and Glashutte is the water resistance.

I may not be diving much anymore, but 30m just doesn't cut it for a daily wear. I'd be fearful of washing up in it (or having the ability to jump into a raging torrent to save a puppy. Or something)

Id never heard of Brellum TBH and it's a good looking watch, but can't help thinking it's trying too hard to be an IWC (which I would much prefer)

Good luck whatever you choose.

Been following Brellum for a couple of years now as Sebastien Muller came across well as somebody quite enthusiastic about watches.

Quite liked an earlier model, maybe called a Wyvern but ultimately they all seemed a bit 'busy' for me. One of those brands like Monta, that are on my mind but never get to.

If you like the idea of rarity, have a look at Gruinand. Made in tiny numbers in Frankfurt and only availible direct from them. An old Swiss brand resurrected by Helmut Sinn.

Good value too. smile

If you like the look of the Brellum, but you are prepared to spend Bremont money, want a better movement and a display caseback - then a IWC Pilot Chronograph is surely the answer!

That Brellum is gorgeous, much nicer than the Bremont IMHO.

What about a Vertex MP45?
