Often hearing people on here saying how big or small their wrists are and stating that certain watches are too big, I guess real proof is in what it looks like on, my wrist meansures about 8 to 8.5" so is that considered big ? dont wanna get a watch that i think looks OK but everybody else things I look a t*at

If you have an 8" wrist, you can carry any size of watch off. Buddy of mine has the same size and my Panerai looked great (at 44mm) and he even wore a Citizen Ecozilla which was 48mm (I think). And that is massive.

I have a 7.5" wrist and wear a 45mm Omega Planet Ocean. Think your best to go and try on the watch you are thinking about and see if you like the size.

Tiny wrists... original carrera and other vintage chronos are perfect size.
Tried a breitling bentley, and it looked like wagon wheel on the wrist...far too big.

I'm a 8" wrist, used to have a Brietling Super Avenger and my other half hated it. I'm now wearing a PAM 249 which is 47mm, thus reducing half a millimeter.
Well its a start....

My scrawny wrist is a little over 6.5" but my Sinn Flieger looks great perched on there. I love this watch!

Apparently it's fashionable to wear an "oversized" watch at the moment. But I think they can look quite ridiculous in some cases. I've got average sized wrists and find anything much over 40 mm totally pointless. Unless you simply want to make a big statement waiving it in everyone's face.

Does anyone know of a UK based www watch retailer where you can do a search based on the diameter of the watch.

I am exceptionally lim .. sorry skinny wristed, at 6.75", so my choice is very limited.

TIA,

KJR.

I also have a slim wrist, just under 8". I have had no difficulty finding appropriately sized watches. At the moment I wear an Omega Seamaster mid size which is 36mm and about perfect proportions in my opinion. Many manufacturers seem to do a mid size though some gents watches are less than 40mm in diameter anyway. A standard Rolex Explorer is 36mm. I also have an Ebel Sport Classic which, at the time, was available in four sizes: two ladies and two mens. I have noticed that over the past couple of years the bigger watches have come into vogue at 40mm+. Some websites have size as a search criteria or at least list those models available in mid size. At the end of the day it varies by manaufacturer and model. Some Rolex mid size models are decribed as unisex by jewellers.

I have a small wrist, about 6.5 inches.

I often wear my Navitimer and have never had anyone say anything, nor have I thought of it as too big. Maybe a Panerai or Big Pilot or Hublot would be pushing it though...
