Goes a little way to restoring hope in the public that when persons find a expensive item, then they are honest enough to hand it in.

Very happy for you, not got a Rolex myself, but would feel exactly the same if that happened with my Seamaster or Carrera.

So it really now begs the question, how many honest injuns do we have out there?

If you found a nice Sea Dweller lurking in the public domain, hand on heart, who would hand it in?

Of course I would hand it in. I found a wallet with 600 quid cash in some years ago, I was a totally skint student but went and handed it anyway.

The police contacted me some months later, it hadn't been claimed and the whole lot was mine. Still have the wallet now and had a great guilt free Christmas knowing I'd done the right thing.

Think how gutted someone who lost their watch would be and do the right thing.
Of course I imagine your average snide watch wearing amoral criminal type might have a different response.

As a member of Nottinghamshire Police and a fellow watch lover with a few expensive pieces, then yes I have to say that if I found a watch such as an SD in public I would hand it in and make sure the BiB had all my details.

As always, there are elements of society that do not hold themselves to these principles, but not going to debate on this forum the rights and wrongs of modern society. I like to do that at work in the Control Room during the silent hours of a nightshift hehe

If it makes you feel any better some idiot went to the bother of removing all 4 hub caps from my other halves 3 yr old golf diesel. They must be worth all of a fiver as stolen goods and they had to cut of all those cable ties off.

Its good to have it back, I was lucky that the girl in the bank found it and just put it in her desk. It was a bad day as I was due to complete on a property deal and the bank forgot to pay my soliciter by chaps and I ended up spending 2 1/2 hours in the bloody bank. started ring around the places I visited yesterday ( soliciters, parents, bank and a restraunt) and got a call saying that they had it.

Going to take it tommorow and have the strap looked at as i think its not quite right.

Not watch related in any way, but it is good to see that there are honest folk around that do the right thing.

My wife came back from India last week and I went to pick her up at the airport. Got to the car park and dumped the suitcases in the car and left the trolley in the car park. Her handbag was on the hook thing under the handlebar of the trolley and we both forgot about it.
The handbag had her passport, about £1k in cash and a fair bit of expensive jewellery inside it (easily worth more than the cash).

Left airport car park and realised about 2 minutes later that we had forgotten the handbag. Rushed back to car park. Trolley was still there, but handbag was not!!!
Cue 2 hours of running around Heathrow Terminal 3 car park and arrivals asking allsorts of different people about the bag and for any help. Looked at CCTV etc etc, but nothing. Finally went back to the left luggage counter for the third time in the space of an hour to check again, and someone had actually handed it in!!

All cash, jewellery and passport was still in the bag – nothing taken. The relief we both felt when the bag turned up was off the scale. It is good to see there are honest like minded people out there and most certainly avoided a major disaster. bounce

We both agreed we were equally at fault. I didnt notice the bag and she totally forgot about it.

I'm sure the blame would have tipped towards me if the bag had not been found!
