Challenge time for all you PH watch folks, I'm a long time lurker on the watch forum and now I need your help / advice.

In Jan I hit that lovely milestone of 40 and given my love of all things blokey including watches Mrs CVP is happy to splash out on something a bit special for me (horologically speaking).

What I'm looking for is a rough tough watch for everyday use but which still looks cool. So far I'm very drawn to either the Sinn 756 UTC or the Sinn 856, both in the black.

Budget likely to be capped at about GBP 2.5k although I could add additional on top of this.

My current stable includes
1. Manual wind 44mm Panerai Luminor in titanium, my most worn watch
2. Glycine combat (red hands non-chronograph)
3. Omega Seamaster (bi-metal from my 18th birthday)
4. Sunnto X-lander, my normal "beater" watch
5. Funky but cheapish Festina chronograph
6. Heuer black faced Monaco re-issue
7. Grandfathers Longines dress watch (?Constellation)
8. Odd oversize italian watch from TCM a bit like this one clicky

I have the Ball Hydrocarbons / Engineers to do some further research on and have unfortunately discounted the Kobold Polar Surveyor due to cost.

Not wanting a Rolex Submariner/GMT/Exporer as I will inherit my fathers.

Question is what else should I be considering that I may not know about?

Many thanks

Chris

How about looking at the top end Seiko's?? The Spring Drive are very nice pieces of kit.

You cannot buy them new now (I don't think so anyway) but have been the proud owner of a Seiko Landmaster in the past, but they are like rocking horse poo.

Something in me doesn't like spending that much on a Seiko... not knocking the technology at all - rather the snob in me..

For me it would have to be something special - get yourself along to an auction as a day out, and get yourself something special...

Thanks for the suggestions, I had a further browse round the main jewellery streets here in NYC. Lots of Daytona's and greeen glass Milguass's around but nothing really grabbed me. there's an enormous amount of bling here and I was looking for a more functional design

I went back onto the web and found Kobold have just released this

It arrives tomorrow complete with NATO strap as well and will now be stored in time for my birthday smile

Cheers

Chris
