Been asked to make a decision for someone, as they cant... it has to have a leather strap and be suitable for under a suit as well as with jeans and shirt/polo i.e. it needs to be a daily watch, and an only watch.

I've said put the money into a pre-owned Rolex such as;

I quite like this also...

However, I have a feeling the watch has to be something that non-watch enthusiasts will know is expensive which rules out the above.
Any ideas appreciated, I think he wants to order tomorrow.

Breitbling, then. Personally, I'd go for the IWC because when I am in a sensible mood I have impeccable taste.

non-watch enthusiast(NWE)? not quite sure if what that is, but if you're talking about a person that doesn't know about watches, does it really matter what they think? They probably only know Rolex and TAG. IMHO the IWC is the best in your bunch - class. NWE be damned!Any ideas appreciated, I think he wants to order tomorrow.

The Breitling shouts, the IWC whispers. The thinking man's choice.
Why thank you! Nah. If he wants to "flash the cash" and show he is a man of no taste but a show-off then why not a U-boat? I find those offensive and truly in-your-face. Money without class. Seems from what I read to suit him. For me there are watches that have class, such as the IWC Aquatimer Heritage, the Breitling Heritage and the IWC Spitfire, be it chrono or plain. (I'm not going into real quality makes such as Blancpain or JLC her becaue he doesn't merit). Now if you really wants to flash the cash spend a fortune (of his money) on a white gold Daytona. You can enjoy spending it for him and then enjoy the comments after! And when he gets mugged............ over to you!
