Thinking of buying a Traser H3 P6508 Watch, the one with the blue vials.
Does anyone know anything about them, reliability, drawbacks etc?
Always fancied one, not too flash and easy to read.
???

Peter.

Had one for about 18 months or so, wear it fairly often.. It has been noticed if out and about as the blue vials are very bright at night - bright enough for me to be able to see enough of whats happening inside my tent when bushcamping for example.

Reliability, so far mine's been bomb proof. It had a few hard knocks and has been through some harsh treatment - lots of sand, dust and regular applications of petrol, diesel and hydraulic fluid; all is fine with it so far. Claims to be water resistant to 30m, though from a good look at the back of it, I'd not rely on it for a diving watch. No drawbacks as far as I'm concerned as mine gets treated badly and seems to thrive on it.

Probably got a pic or two of it at night, but the ones you'll find on ebay etc are a pretty good representation IMHO. I can't remember where I got mine from, but I do remember the prices varied a fair amount - worth shopping around.

I'm just awaiting delivery of a P6506. My first Traser. I wanted a watch I could wear outdoors and not worry about it (e.g. when mountain biking, rock climbing, surfing), and the Traser looked to fit the bill perfectly. As you say, easy to read (in light or dark), it's also tough, reliable and the titanium makes it very light indeed.

Some people don't like these watches, particularly on thin straps, because they look almost toy-like (and hence inferior). However, I have several substantial, expensive watches and would never wear them for the outdoor activities that I bought the Traser for. I like its lightness, its toughness, its readability and the fact it's cheap to fix.

I contemplated buying a Luminox a few years ago but the reviews I read of them were not sparkling. Traser, on the other hand, receives much better feedback. If you have a look on Google, there are several discussion threads on "Luminox vs Traser".

That's exactly the reason I got one and have happily worn it in a few places I'd never take my Seamaster. It doesn't look like anything flash at all, but does what it does very well.
